Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Canton Golden Bears

Plattsburgh's Joey Jamison (26) with the kick save on the low shot to do his best to keep the team in the game early. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Canton Golden Bears in section x boys lacrosse action. The game would not start good for the Hornets as they would be down 3-0 after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter they would be outscored 2-1 with the goal from Joshua Laravia and be down 5-1 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the game would only get worse as they would be outscored 8-0 and fall 13-1 to the Canton Golden Bears. In the lose the Hornets fall to 0-3 on the season and there next game is on the road against the Potsdam Sandstoners. Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Ogdensburg Blue Devils

Plattsburgh's Hunter Laravia (18) with the hard check on the Ogdensburg attacker knocking the ball lose before he got the shot away. The Plattsburgh Hornets would have there third game of the week as they would host the Ogdensburg Blue Devils in section x action. It would be a rough start for the Hornets as they would be down 5-0 after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter the Hornets would do there best to make it a game but would lose the quarter 6-4 and trail 11-4 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the Hornets still had no answer for the Blue Devils as they would be outscored 9-1 in the half and lose the game 20-5. In the losing effort the Hornets would fall to 1-2. As they head into there game on April 10th against Canton. Gallery

Section X Boys Lacrosse - April 2nd 2019

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Milton (VT) Yellow Jackets

The Plattsburgh Horners pose for a team photo as they celeberate there first win in program history. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Milton (VT) Yellow Jackets in a non league tilt. The game would be tight for the first quarter with the teams trading goals and be tied at 1-1 scoring for the Hornets was Corbin Murray. In the second quarter the Hornets would start to pull away as they would score three times coming from Ethan Vaughn, Michael Graves and Hunter Laravia. In the second half it would be a very low scoring with the only goal coming from Plattsburgh's Michael Graves to secure the 5-1 win. In the winning effort Michael Graves scored twice as the Plattsburgh Hornets would win and get there first win in program history and go to 1-1 on the season. The Hornets return to action Thursday evening with a game against the Canton Golden Bears as they return to league action. Gallery

Section X Boys Lacrosse - April 1st 2019

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Massena Red Raiders

Plattsburgh's Ethan Vaughan (27) with the shot on net for the first ever goal for Plattsburgh would score there first ever goal as a member of section X lacrosse. In there first ever game as a member of Section X the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Massena Red Raiders. It would be a very low scoring game. The Red Raiders would strike in the second quarter with 2 goals and take the 2-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half there would be no change as the Red Raiders would get one more to take the 3-0 lead in the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Red Raiders qould get another and take a 4-0 lead. Then in the final couple minutes of the game it would happen the Hornets would get there first goal as a section x member from Ethan Vaughan to make it a 4-1 goal. Although the Hornets would as they would add one more with 17 seconds left in the game from Corbyn Birch. Although it would not be enough as the Plattsburgh Hornets would fall 4-2 and start there season at 0-1. Although there will be little rest for the Hornets as they are right back it tomorrow with a game against the Milton (VT) Yellow Jackets. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Semi-Finals - #2 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs #3 Peru Indians - October 19th 2018

Peru's Austin Carpenter (5) slides into the end zone for the lone Indians score. It would be the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Semi-Finals featuring the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets and the #3 Peru Indians It would be a defensive battle with both teams going for every yard they can. The Indians would draw first blood on a four-yard run by Austin Carpenter to give them the 8-0 lead with 2:12 left in the first quarter. In the second quarter the Hornets would answer back on a 61-yard pass to Zach Bieber to make it an 8-7 game. Believe it or not, that would be all the scoring the game and the defenses would crank down and not allow another score the rest of the night. With the 8-7 victory, the Peru Indians would improve 5-3 as they head to the championship next week against the Beekmantown Eagles while the Plattsburgh Hornets season comes to end with a 4-4 season. It would be the final day of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season and would feature the Plattsburgh Hornets and Saranac Chiefs. The Saranac Chiefs would take the 7-0 lead at the 7:15 mark of the first quarter on the 8-yard pass to Jacob Nolan. The Chiefs would extend there lead to 14-0 midway through the second quarter on the James Conway 1 yard run. The game would remain there until four minutes left in the third quarter when the Chiefs would extend it to 21-0 on the running touchdown. The Chiefs would get one more like the fourth quarter starter on the Luke Garmin 9 yard pass to secure the 28-0 victory. Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Beekmantown Eagles - September 28th 2018

Beekmantown's Willam Colvard (28) takes it around the edge for the score. It would be Week 5 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and it would be a battle for first place as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host crosstown foe the Beekmantown Eagles. The game would take a bit to get going as the Hornets would take the 6-0 lead at the 6:26 mark of the second quarter when Cameron Colburn would score off a 31-yard strike. The Eagles would march back down the field and tie the game up on a Christain Moura 13 yard run at 8:59 of the second quarter. Although in the closing seconds of the half the Hornets would take the 12-6 lead into the break on the 4-yard pass to Zack Bieber. It would take most of the third quarter although the Eagles would take the 14-12 lead on a Christain Moura 13 yard run at 8:33. Just two minutes later they would extend there lead on the Brandon Belrose keeper for the 20-12 lead. In the early moments of the fourth, it would go to 22-12 on the Beekmentown safety. Then the eagles would extend the lead to 28-12 on the touchdown pass. Although the Hornets would answer right back 25 seconds later on the touchdown pass to Zack Bieber to make it 28-18. Then in the final three minutes of the game, the Eagles would put it away on a 4 yard run by William Colvard to secure the 34-18 victory. In the winning effort, the Eagles go to 5-0 while the Hornets fall to 3-2 on the season. Gallery.

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football - Week 2 - Ausable Valley Patriots Vs Plattsburgh Hornets - September 7th 2018

Plattsburgh's Lestyn Williams (42) stretches out for the touchdown to give the Hornets the lead. It would be week 2 of the Champlain Valley Atheletic Conference season and it would feature the Ausable Valley Patriots and the Plattsburgh Hornets. The Horners would get the opening score of the game on a run by Lestyn Williams for the 7-0 lead at 3:52 of the first quarter. The game would be a very defensive game and the game would stay there all the way through the first half. When the teams would come back for the third quarter the Patriots would finally get on the board on a 63 yard pass to Louie Perez although they would miss the extra point and the Hornets would keep a 7-6 advantage. The game would stay there til the final three minutes of the game when the Hornets would expand there lead to 14-6 on a four yard run by Lestyn Williams and secure the victory. In the winning effort the Hornets go to 2-0 while the Patriots fall to 0-2 on the season. Next will the Horners will be at home as they host the Peru Indians and the Patriots will travel and take on the Saranac Lake Red Strom. Gallery
