Saranac Lake's Annabelle Johnson (11) crashes in and lays the layup off the window for the score. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference matchup between the host Plattsburgh Hornets and Saranac Lake Red Storm. The game would get off to a fast start as the Hornets would jump out to a 21-11 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hornet's offense would go a little quiet as the Red Storm would win the quarter 9-6 but the Hornets would have a 26-20 lead at the break. The Hornets would find their game again when they came back with a 13-9 quarter to extend their lead to 49-29 to head to the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Red Storm would give it everything they had to make a come back with a 13-5 quarter but it would fall short as the Hornets would get the 54-42 win. The game would start off good for the home Nighthawks as they would be doubling up the Sentinels after the first quarter at 15-6. In the second quarter, the Nighthawks would continue to pull away with a 13-3 quarter and take a 28-9 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Nighthawks would keep their foot on the gas with a 15-6 quarter to extend their lead to 43-15 as they head into the fourth. In that fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would lighten up with the outcome, not in question with a 13-10 quarter, and secure the 56-25 win. Leading the way on the night would be Kortney McCarthy would be 19 points as they go to 6-5 on the season while Ticonderoga falls to 5-3 on the season. Gallery.
