The Cardinals would extend the lead 2 minutes into the second period on the Rich McCartney goal to make it 2-0. The game would stay there till the 7-minute mark of the third period when Rich McCartney would get his second goal of the night to make it 3-0. The Beavers would get on the broad with 5 minutes left in the third on a Patrick Flynn goal to make it 3-1. Then with under two minutes left the Cardinals would add an empty netter from Greg Malafronte to secure the 4-1 victory. Then four minutes into the third period Anthony Fournier-Gosselin would score to secure the 5-0 victory.
