It would take just half of the first period for the Cardinals' to get on the broad when Alex Brenton would get the goal at 10:52 of the first period for the 1-0 lead. Hamilton's Michael Dimare would tie the game up 27 seconds left in the first period at 1-1. Hamilton would take the 2-1 lead on the power-play goal by Pat Curtis at 1:52 of the second period.
