Saranac's Kasey Favreau (34) release the high fastball for the swinging struck one of his five on the day. The Saranac Chiefs would defeat the Northeastern Clinton Cougars 5-2. The Cougars would get the opening shot with two runs in the first to take 2-0 lead. Then over the remaining six innings Kasy Favreau would quite the Cougars and the Chiefs would get five unanswered runs. The would get one back in the third on Brady Burleigh's RBI double to make it 2-1. Then in fourth the big shot would be made on Tanner Rascoe's three-run homer to give the Chiefs a 4-2 lead. Then in the sixth inning, the Chiefs would add an insurance run on Austin Velie's RBI single. In getting the win for the Chiefs Kasey Favreau would go the distance striking out five, five hits and four walks. The Chiefs will play Wednesday for the Section VII championship. Gallery

Champlain Valley Baseball League Airborne Speedway Padres Vs 4th Ward Timberjaxxs May 27 2012

Airborne Speedway's Nick Desroches (7) snags the liner headed for second base. The Airborne Speedway Padres and the 4th Ward Timberjaxxs would split a doubleheader. The Timberjaxxs would have a come from behind win in game 1 7-4. Then in game two the Padres would hold on for the 4-3 victory. In-game one the Timberjaxxs would get the early 1-0 lead in the first. The Padres would come back and get three in third to take the 3-1 lead. The Padres would add another in the fifth for the 4-1 lead. The Timberjaxxs would start there comeback by getting one in the sixth to make it 4-2. Then in the seventh inning the wheels would come off for the Padres and the Timberjaxxs bats woke up and they got 5 runs to get the 7-4 win. In the winning effort, DJ Barber would go six innings striking five for the victory. In-game two the Padres would get the 4-3 victory with again some late-game drama by getting two in the sixth to take the lead. Then we would need to scramble for the seventh to hang on for the 4-3 victory. Gallery

Champlain Valley Baseball League Airborne Speedway Padres @ Plattsburgh Cardinals May 13 2012

Airborne Speedway's Shane Perotte (2) applies the tag on the cardinal runner advancing to third. The Padres would split a doubleheader with the Cardinals. The first game would be close throughout the Padres would win 6-3 in nine innings. The Cardinals would get the early 1-0 lead in the second. Then the Padres would answer back with two in the third. Then the Cardinals would get 1 in the 4th to tie the game two. The two teams would trade runs in the 5th to make it 3-3. That's where the game would remain until the ninth when the Padres would open up the offense and the cardinals would have costly miscues and score three runs and get the 6-3 victory. Getting the win for the Padres would be Frank Brogna. Gane two would go to the cardinals. With the split on the day, the Padres go to 1-3 and the Cardinals 3-1 on the season. Gallery

Malone's Alex Johnson (15) throws on to first to complete the double play. The Malone Huskies would defeat the Brushton-Moria Panthers 13-7 in nonleague action. The Malone bats would score early and often with nine runs in the first to take the early 9-0 lead. The Huskies would answer with another four in the third for the 13-0 lead. The Panther bats would come alive in the fourth though as they would get seven runs to make it the 13-7 final. Getting the win for the Huskies would be Derek Juntunen. With the win, the Huskies keep there unbeaten season intact at 8-0 and the Panthers fall to 2-3 on the season. Gallery

Northern Adirondack Conference Baseball: Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Tupper Lake Lumberjacks May 7 2012

Chateaugay's Garrett Holmes (17) snags the liner to start the game-ending double play. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would defeat the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks 11-10. The game would go back and forth and the offenses were definitely on display. The Bulldogs would jump quick and quick and take the 3-1 lead after 1. Then in the second, the Lumberjacks would answer back with six for the 7-4 lead. Then in the third Bulldogs would come back with five for the 9-7 lead. Then the teams would settle down the rest of the way and Bulldogs would hold on for the 11-10 victory. In the winning effort Garret Labare would strike out 8 in 5.2 innings of work. With the win, the Bulldogs go to 2-3 on the season. Gallery

Lyon Mountain's Chris Van Houten (4) on release with the fastball for one of his ten strikeouts on the day. The Lyon Mountain Miners would sweep the Airborne Speedway Padres 7-5 and 9-2. In-game one of the doubleheaders the Miners would take a 2-0 lead after the second. The Padres would answer back with one in third but the Miners would get three in the bottom to have the 5-1 lead. Then in the fourth, the Miners would get two more for the 7-1 lead. The Padres would try to make the late-game comeback but it just comes up short getting four runs in the last two innings for the 7-5 Miners win. In the winning effort, Justin Besaw would strike out four. In-game the Padres would just have no answers for the Miners as they would get 9 unanswered runs in the first six innings. Then in the seventh Padres would avoid the shutout by getting two runs for the 9-2 final. In the winning effort, Chris Van Houten would strike out 10 in 6 innings of shutout ball.

The game would be tied at 1 after the first. Then in the rest of the game, the Chiefs would get 13 unanswered runs and cruise to the victory. The Huskies would make easy work of the Bears in both games handily. In the second game, Devon and Bruce Monette would combine for the no-hitter. The game would be close at 1-0 until the fourth. At that time the Yellow Jackets bats would erupt for five runs and then come back with another six in the fifth inning to secure the 13-0 win. Ogdensburg would get on the board first with one in the first, three in the third and one in the fourth for the 5-0 lead before the Huskies would get on the board. Then in the fifth, the Huskies would get two runs the Blue Devils would get one in the sixth. Then at the bottom of the inning, the Huskies would explode for four to take the 6-5 lead. Then at the top of seventh the Blue Devils would get one to force extras. Then at the bottom of the eighth Brandon Welch would have the walk-off single to get the 7-6 victory.
