Peru's Reese Duprey (5) drives along the baseline and lays it off the window to keep her team in the game early. It would be the last game of the day on the opening night of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic as it would pit the Peru Nighthawks and Seton Catholic Knights. It would be an even match through although on the low-scoring end to the point where the Nighthawks would lead 5-4 after the first quarter. Although in the second quarter the Knights would find their shooting rhyme and have a 13-4 quarter to take the 17-9 lead into the locker room. When the teams came out of the locker room the Nighthawks would flip the script with an 11-2 quarter into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would need some last-second magic to keep the game alive as they would score in the last seconds of the game to force overtime tied at 30. In the overtime frame, the Nighthawks would find their offense and pull away at the end with a 12-6 quarter to secure the 42-36 victory. In the winning effort, the Peru Nighthawks will have a shot to be crowned the 2022 Holiday Classic champion as they will take on the Boquet Valley Griffins as they go to 3-2 on the season and the Knights fall to 2-4 on the season.
