Plattsburgh's (40) slices down the paint through a pair of defenders for the hoop. It would be the classic section vii rivalry as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Nighthawks in Boy's Basketball action. It would be a game that you could tell was an early-season tilt as the offense would have some miscues and the Hornets would have a low scoring 12-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the scoring would even be less as the defenses would step up as the Nighthawks would win the quarter at 5-4 but the Hornets would still have the lead at 16-10 at the half. When the teams would come back for the third quarter it would be tight with some extra scoring as the Hornets would win the quarter at 10-9 and extend their lead to 26-19. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would get hot and pull away with an 18-9 quarter and secure the 44-27 victory.
