It was the season opener for the Empire Football League season and the defending champions would start on the road taken on a return to the team to the Albany Metro Mallers There would be no scoring in this very physical contest until the second quarter when the North Stars would take a 3-0 lead on a field goal and hold the lead to the half. The Metro Mallers would take a 6-3 lead on a three-yard touchdown pass nearing the end of the third quarter. Then in the fourth quarter, the Metro Mallers would strike again on a 23-yard touchdown pass to take a 12-3 lead. The North Stars would strike back on the next drive when Kenny Stay would find Jordan Keleher in the end zone for a four-yard touchdown pass. The Metro Mallers would put the icing on the cake when they would score on a 70-yard touchdown to secure the 19-10 victory. With the lose the North Stars start the season off at 0-1 and will be at home next weekend to take on the Montreal Voyagers while the Albany Metro Mallers will be hosting the Watertown Red & Black.
