Plattsburgh North Stars Tom Gallup (71) meets the Albany Metro Mallers running back when he turned after the shovel pass. It was the season opener for the Empire Football League season and the defending champions would start on the road taken on a return to the team to the Albany Metro Mallers There would be no scoring in this very physical contest until the second quarter when the North Stars would take a 3-0 lead on a field goal and hold the lead to the half. The Metro Mallers would take a 6-3 lead on a three-yard touchdown pass nearing the end of the third quarter. With the lose the North Stars start the season off at 0-1 and will be at home next weekend to take on the Montreal Voyagers while the Albany Metro Mallers will be hosting the Watertown Red & Black.
