Peabody's Matt Hart (10) with the tag on Lyon Mountain's Josh Rabideau sliding into second for the out. The Peabody Padres would host the Lyon Mountain in week four of the Champlain Valley Baseball League. In the first game of the twin bill, the Padres would score early and often getting two runs in the first off RBI singles by Mark Eggleston and Jeff Norton to make it 2-0. In the second inning, the bats would really come alive as they would score five runs with the big blow coming on Mark Eggleston's bases-clearing triple to make it 7-0. The score would stay there till the 6th when the Miners would get on the board on Riley Lawless RBI single to make it 7-1. Although at the bottom of the inning the Padres would add 5 more and close out the Miners with a 12-1 victory. In the winning effort, Matt Rivers would go the distance giving up 1 run on four hits while striking out four. While at the plate Mark Eggleston would go 3-4 with 2 RBI's. In the second game, it would be a pitchers duel as Padres Frank Brogna and Kris Chase. Although the Padres would get the lone two runs of the game in the fourth inning to secure the win and the sweep. In the winning effort, Frank Brogna would go the distance for the shutout victory while striking out nine. With the win, the Peabody Padres go to 5-1 while the Miners fall to 4-4 on the season.
