The Dodgers would take the 2-0 lead in the third inning on a pair of RBI singles. Then in the fourth inning, the Dodgers would extend there lead to 4-0 lead with another pair of RBI singles. The game would stay there till the sixth inning when the Padres would fight there way back with three runs and make it 4-3 game. Although their efforts would fall short and the Dodgers would hold on for the 4-3 victory. In the winning effort, Luis Pepan Matos would go the distance giving up three runs on four hits while striking out five as the Dodgers finish off the regular season at 9-11 while the Padres fall to 11-5.
