Plattsburgh State's Jon Craft (3) fields the hop on the ground ball and fires onto first for the out. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Middlebury Panthers in non-league action. The game would remain scoreless until the third period when the Panthers would break through with three runs and take the 3-0 lead. The Cardinals would get on the board in the fourth inning with a sacrifice bunt to make it 3-1. The Panthers would answer back in the fifth inning with three more runs to make it 6-1 Panthers. At the bottom of the fifth, the Cardinals would keep it close getting two runs to make it 6-4. In the sixth, the Panthers would score one to make it 7-4. At the bottom of the sixth, the Cardinals would score five to make it 9-7 Cardinals. The game would stay there till the ninth when the Panthers would get two runs. In the bottom of the ninth, the Cardinals would get the game-winning run on error pick off attempt at first and the runner would score from second to secure the 10-9 victory. In the winning effort, Trevor Markey would go 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI's as the Cardinals go to 4-25 on the season. Gallery.
