Plattsburgh's Declan Baker (11) with the overhand shot on net for one of two goals game on the game. It would be the home opener and the first home game for the Hornets in over two seasons and they would have a conference game against the Canton Golden Bears. The game would not start off the greatest for the Hornets but they would stay in and only be down 3-1 after the first with the lone goal scorer for the Hornets being Declan Baker. In the second quarter, the defenses would stand tall on both sides as there would be no scoring in the quarter and the Bears would take the 3-1 lead into the break. Although when the teams returned for the third quarter the Bear's offense would come to life as they would explode for five in the quarter. Then in the fourth quarter, the Bears would have another 3-1 quarter with Declan Baker scoring again for the Hornets as the Bears would get the 11-2 win. In the winning effort, the Bears go to 2-1 on the season while Owen Pray would make 29 saves as the Hornets fall to 0-5 on the season. Gallery
