It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and the last home game for the Plattsburgh Hornets as they would take on the #17 Northern Adirondack Bobcats. It would be a low-scoring tight game through the first quarter as it would be tied at nine. In the second quarter, the Bobcats would start to find their shot and win the quarter 13-7 and have the halftime lead at 22-16. When the teams would return for the third quarter the game would take a 180 turn and the Hornets would win the quarter 17-11 and tie the game at 33 as they entered the 4th quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Bobcats would take control of the game again with a 16-9 quarter and get the 49-42 win. In the winning effort, the Northern Adirondack Bobcats go to 15-4 while the Plattsburgh Hornets fall to 11-8 on the season as the teams head to the playoffs. Gallery

Plattsburgh's (10) dives for the loose ball to keep the play alive before they head out of bounds. It would be the rivalry matchup and senior night at Plattsburgh High as they would host the Peru Nighthawks in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action. The game would start off slow as there was no scoring in the game for almost the first three minutes of the game but when the scoring came the Hornets would shootout to a 15-11 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the teams would have better luck at the rim throughout, though it would be another 15-11 quarter for the Hornets to give them a 30-22 lead as they went into the locker room. When the teams returned for the third quarter it was a defensive quarter with the Nighthawks winning the low-scoring quarter by the slimness of margins at 7-6 but the Hornets would have the 36-29 lead as they enter the 4th quarter. In the fourth quarter, both offenses would come to play as it would be a 15-13 quarter for the Hornets and they would get the win 51-41. With the win the Hornets will go to 11-8 on the season and will play the Northern Adirondack Bobcats on February 16th will the Nighthawks will fall to 8-10 on the season as they head into their matchup against Northeastern Clinton. Saranac's Sydney Myers (10) breaks in on the breakaway and beats the goalie near side as part of a five goal game. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference game in Girl's Soccer action that would he the Saranac Chiefs hosting the Plattsburgh Hornets. It would be a game that the Chiefs will not soon forget as they would totally control the Hornets as they would go on for the 13-0 victory. In the winning effort the Syndey Myers would score five goals and Oliva Davis would add two more and the rest would divided up over 6 players. As the Chiefs will start the season off at 1-0 and the Hornets fall to 2-2 as they head into the second week of play and will look to the right the ship. Gallery

Northeastern Clinton sophomore Bailee Lafountain drives to the basket past Plattsburgh freshman Bailey Hewson. Northeastern Clinton rode a strong second and third quarter performance to a 49-29 victory over Plattsburgh High School Friday in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action.

Both teams got off to a slow start, with neither scoring before the midpoint of the opening quarter. The Hornets got on the board first with a pair of free throws from junior Calli Fitzwater, but it was the Cougars who ended the opening frame with a 9-5 lead.

Northeastern Clinton pulled away in the second, led by a nine-point quarter for sophomore Desiree Dubois.

The score at the halftime break saw the Cougars with a 21-9 lead. Plattsburgh junior Cora Long put up nine points of her own in the third quarter, but the Hornets were never able to pull back the Cougars' lead.

Dubois led Northeastern Clinton's offense with 20 points, ahead of 13 points from sophomore Bailee Lafountain. Long's 16 points led the Hornets in the loss, followed by Fitzwater with 6 points.

Both Dubois and Long knocked down four shots each from the three-point arc. Gallery

The game would start off great for the road Wildcats as they would jump out to a 15-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hornets would start to get their legs and shut down the Wildcats with an 8-3 quarter although they would still trail 18-13 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the teams would be fairly evenly matched as the Hornets would win slightly 13-11 with the Wildcats still leading 29-27 as they headed to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would start to run out of gas and the wildcats would get 14-9 quarter and a 43-36 victory.
