The Peabody Padres would host the Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs in doubleheader action at Saranac in Week 3 of the Champlain Valley Baseball League season. The first game would remain scoreless until the fourth inning when the Padres would explode four runs in the inning with the big blow coming from Matt Ormsby two rbi single and take the 4-0 lead. The Padres would do it again in the fifth with two more runs playing small ball to make it 6-0. Then in the sixth inning the Padres would add one more to secure the lead at 7-0 with some bad play in the field by the Timberjaxxs. In the seventh inning the Timberjaxxs would avoid the shutout and get a run on the board as the Padres would get the 7-1 win. In the winning effort Matt Rivers would go the distance striking out seven and giving up one run on three hits. With Padres Shane Perrotte would go 3-3 with a RBI. The Padres would also take the second game and go to 2-2 on the season while the Timberjaxxs falls to 0-4.

Fourth Ward's Cameron Hurlburt (10) tags out Peabody's Chris Markwicka (7) trying to advance to second base on a passed ball. The Peabody Padres would host the Fourth Ward Timberjaxxs in doubleheader action at Saranac in Week 3 of the Champlain Valley Baseball League season. In week two action of the Champlain Valley Baseball League as the Peabody Padres would host the new Adam's Glass Dodgers in doubleheader action in the first game Adam's Glass Dodgers would get the 6-2 victory in extra innings with the big inning coming in the ninth when they would open up for four runs. In the second game of the doubleheader, it would be another low scoring pitchers duel as the Padres would get the 5-1 win thanks to a three-run fifth inning. With that being said the teams would get a split on the day and the Padres would start there season at 1-1 while Adam's Glass would go to 2-2 on the season.

The Padres would take on the Fourth Ward Athletics in the 1st round of the Champlain Valley Baseball League. The game would be a pitchers duel as the Athletics would get the lone run in the game in the fourth inning for the win. For the Athletics Brain Burns would go the distance for the complete-game shutout win while giving up 4 hits. In just as good a game Padres Frank Brogna would get the complete game 6 hits on and one run. With the Athletics win, they will take the Lyon Mountain Miners in the semi-finals. Gallery

In the winning effort for the Miners, Dave Waldron would go the distance to get the shutout victory while giving up just four hits. In the second game, it would be called after the fourth inning with the score tied at zero. The game will not be resumed as it makes no difference in the standings. With the playoffs starting next week the Miners will get a first-round bye with the regular-season title. The Padres will take on the A's in the 4/5 game in Plattsburgh. Gallery

Peabody's Chris Markwicka (7) drops to a knee on the grounder fields it and fires to first for the out. After three weeks off because of ran outs the Peabody Padres would get back in action against Meron Expos in doubleheader action in Saranac. The Expos would take the 1-0 lead right off in the first. The Padres would tie the game up in the third on an RBI single by Eric Bell. The Padres would take the lead in the fourth on Shane Perrotte's 2 RBI single to make it 3-1. The Padres would extend the lead to 4-1 on Kalob Drollette RBI base hit in the 5th inning. In the sixth, the Expos would erase the lead by getting three runs and tie the game at 4. Then the Expos would win it in the seventh with one run to get the 5-4 win. In the lose Matt Rivers would go the distance striking out six while giving up 8 hits. As the teams would return for game two the Expos would get one in first while the Padres would get two for the 2-1 lead. After that, it would be all Expos as they would score nine unanswered runs for the 11-2 victory giving the Expos the sweep on the day. With the sweep, the Expos go to 7-5 while the Padres fall to 5-8. Gallery
