Potsdam's Anna Nelson (10) with the breakaway goal that she slides under the pads for the goal. It would be the third-place game of the North Country Shootout and it would feature the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers and the Potsdam Sandstoners. The Sandstoners would get the opening goal of the game from Madison Weaver at the 10:46 nark of the period to make it 1-0. The Sandstoners would extend the lead to 2-0 on the Anna Nelson goal. When the teams came back for the second period the Sandstoners would extend their lead to 3-0 at the 3:38 mark of the period on the Rylie Bicknell goal. Then with 40 seconds left in the period, they would make it 4-0 on Isabel Boyd's goal. In the third period, the Sandstoners would put the icing on the cake as they would get a fifth goal on the Sophie Lauzon goal at the 3:49 mark. Then at the 7:07 mark of the Lakers would score from Taylor Whitson to avoid the shutout and make it a 5-1 game. Then at 10:41, the Sandstoners would put the icing on the cake with a goal. The Kenmore/Grand Island has been named the first North Country Shootout champions with a 5-2 win over the Plattsburgh Hornets. The game would start off good for the Hornets as they would get the lone goal of the first period from Ada Johnson for the 1-0 lead. Although Kenmore/Grand Island would answer back with three goals of their own in the second period from Carissa Buyea, Isabella Jayme, and Megan Pinzel to make it a 3-1 game. Then just a minute into the third period Kenmore/Grand Island would make it 4-1 on the Emiliana Cassillo goal. Although the Hornets would show some life and make it a 4-2 game on the Amaya Abellard goal at the 9:18 marl. Although in the closing minute of the game the Kenmore/Grand Island squad would ice the game away with an empty netter on Megan Pinzel's second goal of the game to secure the 5-2 win and tournament title. In the winning effort, Kenmore/Grand Island's Carolyn Vourgeault would make 20 saves while Amella Lebrun makes 20 saves on the night. Gallery

It would be a section vii game inside the Upstate New York Girl's Hockey League as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers. It would take a bit but the home Hornets would get on the board first with a goal at the 6:47 mark of the first period when Amaya Abellard would light the lamp for the 1-0 lead. Then just two minutes later the Hornets would expand their lead to 2-0 on the Amanda Vaughn goal. Then with just under two minutes left in the opening period, the Hornets would take a 3-0 lead on the Rachel Madore power-play goal. When the teams came back for the second period the teams would play the period very evenly with the Hornets getting the only goal of the period in the final minute on Rachel Madore's second goal of the night to make it 4-0. In the third period, the Hornets would put the icing on the cake with a goal by Ada Johnson to secure a 5-0 win. In the winning effort, Angelica LeBraun would make 11 saves in the shutout victory as they went to 4-1-1 on the season. Gallery

In the second period, the Hornets would keep the hot scoring going as they would get three more goals coming from Ada Johnson, Sophia Gutierrez, and Mackenzie Brown for her second of the night to expand their lead to 6-0. With the game firmly in control, the Hornets would let up some in the third period but would still score three goals from Rachel Madore (2nd of the night), Mackenzie Brown (for her this and hat trick) and Sophia Guitterez would get her second of the night to secure the 9-0 win. Saranac Lake/Lake Placid's (7) with the deke on the Hornets defender and breaks to the net. For the second time in three days, the Plattsburgh Hornets would the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers in Girl's Hockey action. The game would look like it was going to start the same as the last meeting as the Hornets would take the 1-0 lead at the 4:30 mark of the first period on the Giroux goal. Although this time the Lakers would have an answer to the Hornets defense and get the tying goal with 90 seconds left in the opening period. In the second period, the Hornets would answer back quick to regain the one-goal lead at 2-1 on the Johnston goal. Then just over three minutes later the Hornets would strike again and get the two-goal lead on the Amanda Vaughn goal at 3-1. The Lakers would still have fought in them and cut the lead in half at 3-2 at the 6:52 mark of the second period. The Lakers would keep up their attack and would eventually get that game-tying goal at 3-3 with just over nine minutes to go in the game. Although the tie would be short-lived as the Hornets would take the lead back at 4-3 just ten seconds later. It was starting to look like the Hornets were going to get the win but with 33 seconds left in the game, the Lakers would get the tying goal with the extra attacker on the ice. The teams would head to overtime but the extra would be of no help on this night as the game would end in a 4-4 tie.Gallery

Then with just over two minutes left in the game, the Hornets would strike again for a 3-0 lead again from Mackenzie Brown for the second goal of the game and third point of the contest. In the second period, the Lakers would play their hearts out and keep the Hornets off the board but the Lakers would have no answer and the game would stay 3-0 after the second period. Then about halfway through the third period, the Hornets would strike again this time from Giroux for the 4-0 lead. Then with just over five minutes left in the game, the Hornets would add one more for good measure and complete the 5-0 shutout victory on the Emily Vaughan goal.
