The Fourth Ward Cardinals and the Hockey Plus/Loreman's Padres locked up for a big regular-season doubleheader as they came in #1 and #2 in the standings with the Cardinals up by 1.5 games. There would not be much settled on this day as Padres would split the doubleheader and stay a 1.5 apart headed into the final week of the season. The Padres would come from behind in game 1 to win it in the 7th inning 5-4. However, the Cardinals came back to calm the game 2 with a convincing 6-0 win. The Padres will finish off the regular season on July 19th with a doubleheader in Lyon Mountain against the Miners.
