Plattsburgh State's Megan Dijulio (13) takes the rebound off the Elimra goaltender and puts the puck in the open net to give the Cardinals the early 1-0 lead. Although the Cardinals would not be able to hold on as Elimra would come back and the Cardinals come up short 4-2 as Elimra would win the ECAC West title. The Cardinal did however earn a berth in the NCAA Touranment and will host Norwich on March 13th. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Brittany Meade (18) tries to stuff the puck by the Utica goaltender that just wouldn't get in. The #1 seeded Cardinals would get the impressive 5-2 victory over the Pioneers to advance to conference finals against conference rival Elmira. The teams traded goals until midway through the 2nd period when the Cardinals would score to make it 3-2 and would not look back from there and go on for the victory. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Vic Shueleter (7) crashes the net as he goes for goal. he #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals gave an all-out effort against arch-rival and #8 Oswego Lakers but would suffer their first loss of the season on a 5-2 defeat. With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 3-1 after the first two weeks of the season. The Cardinals will now head on the road for the first time this season as they will take on Morrisonville this coming Saturday night.Gallery

The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals started off their weekend home series against the Cortland Red Dragons in a game that they would dominate from start to finish for the 5-1 victory. The Cardinals would take the early 1-0 lead in the 1st period and never look back from that point. With the win, the Cardinals improved to 3-0 on the early season. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals openned up the 2009-2010 season #1 in the nation at home and would bet SUNYAC oppenet Geneseo 4-2. The Plattsburgh State Men's Hockey team ranked #1 in the country started of the 2009-2010 season at home against SUNYAC oppenet Geneseo. In a game that would see the Cardinals trail 1-0 after the first three minutes of the game. The Cardinals would tie it back at 1 late in the openning period. Then in the second period the teams would trade goals going into the final period tied at 2. Then in that final period the Cardinals would score twice in 16 seconds to get the 4-2 win in front of the home crowd. The Plattsburgh North Stars would travel to Watertown to take on the Red & Black in there first ever Empire Football League Championship game. In a game that would be one of the best for the league championship, the North Stars dream season came to end with a 6-0 loss to the Red & Black. The game was a great defensive battle neither them willing to give an inch unfortunately for the North Stars they blinked once with 6 minutes left in the opening half giving Watertown the only score of the game.
