Northeastern Clinton's Josh Seymour (17) breaks in on net for the shot as Storm's Jack Pierce (2) breaks into the play. It would be day 2 of the Applebee's Winter Classic from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena, and it would see the Northeastern Clinton Cougars and Guilderland Stoem in the Consolation game. The game would start well for the Storm as they would get the opening goal at the 9:10 mark of the first period when Keegan McGovern would score to make it a 1-0 Storm game. The game would stay there until the 6:08 mark of the second period when the Storm would strike again from Klaidi Gjini to score to give them the 2-0 lead. Then, with just under three minutes left in the game, the Storm and Gjini would strike again as the Storm would secure the 3-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Storm would finish third in the tournament behind Devin Kelly's 23-save night as they went to 2-4 in the early season. As for the Northeastern Clinton Cougars, Greysn LaFountain would make 34 saves and drop to 0-3 on the season. Gallery

Storm's Quin Rice (24) gets a stick on Northeastern Clinton's Cobe LaFountain (5) as he broke in on the net for the scoring chance. It would be the opening game of the 2024 edition of the Applebee's Winter Classic from the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse, and it would feature the Guilderland Storm from Section II and Beekmantown Eagles from Section VII. The game would start great for the Eagles as they would light the lamp five times in the opening period from Jacoby Weeden, Mason Carter (twice), Evan Bruyere, and Pryce Parker. When the teams returned for the second period, it would be more of the same for the Eagles as they would add another three goals from Novak Jarus, Jackson Deyo, and Edward Sweenor for the 8-0 Eagles lead. In the third period, they would finish off their scoring on Novak Jarus's second of the night. The Storm would answer back their way with three goals in the period, but it would not be enough as the Eagles would get the 9-3 win and head to the finals against the Rye Garnet. In the opening period the teams would combine for 5 goals and the Storm would have a 3-2 lead. The three for the Storm would come from Keegan McGovern and Klaidi Ginghi while scoring for the Cougars would be Scott Wryre and Owen Ebersole. In the second period, the Storm would add another two goals from Quinn Rice while the Cougars would add one more from Winnie Simpson as the Storm would take a 5-3 lead into the third period. In that third period, the teams would combine for 8 goals. The Storm would have a pair of goals in the period from Quinn Rice and Joe Kosier. While the Cougars would get 6 goals in the period including a span in the period where the Cougars would score 4 goals in 3:12 scoring in the period would be Owen Ebersole (twice), Winnie Simpson (three), and Garrett Pilon as the Northeastern Clinton Cougars would get the 9-7 win. In the third period, they would lighten up on the offense with the game hand and get two goals from Robert Bohl and Axel Kotikoski (for second of the game. Storm Hockey @ Beekmantown Eagles Applebees Winter Classic Day 1 High School Boys Hockey December 18th 2021

It would be the second game of the opening day of the Applebee Winter Classic and it would feature the host Beekmantown Eagles and Storm. The game would start off good for the host Eagles DJ Gonyo would light the lamp at the 3:05 mark of the first period for the lone goal of the first. In the second period, the Storm would waste little time tying the game up at the 1:53 mark. The tye would be short-lived as the Eagles would answer back at the 2:59 mark on the Keegan Rodier goal to make it 2-1. The Storm would answer back and tie the game with just under 1:30 left in the game on Dylan Bzdell's second goal of the period. In the third period when the game was starting to look like it was going to overtime Storm's Dylan Bzdell said hold that thought and light the lamp for the third time on the night with just over three minutes left for the 3-2 victory. The Eagles would put up a fiery counter in the closing minutes but wouldn't be enough as the Storm hold on for the 3-2 victory. With the win, the Storm goes to 4-0 on the season and will take on Northeastern Clinton for a chance to win the Applebee's Winter Classic. Gallery.
