It would be the home opener for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals, as they would host traditional non-conference foe the Norwich Cadets from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference on Veterans Day, in front of 500 fans. The game went back and forth in the first half, with both teams leading but staying within 10 points, and the Cadets led 41-37 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half, the Cardinals' defense would step up as they would hold the Cadets to just 19 points for the half, while the offense would get out there and score 30, as the home Cardinals would secure the 67-60 victory as they go to 2-0 on the season. In the winning effort, the Cardinal Reem Welch led all scorers with 24 points. For the Cadets, they will fall to 1-1 on the season, and Michael Ndayishimiye would lead the way with 21 points.
