The Plattsburgh State Cardinals before the start of the game would raise there 2016 National Championship banner to the rafters. It would be a clash of a pair of top 10 teams in ECAC-West action. In the second period the Cardinals would add three more goals from Jordan Lipton (twice) and Katelyn Turk for the 6-0 lead. In the third period, the teams would trade a pair of goals with the Cardinal goal coming from Kayla Meneghin shorthand goal second of the night as the Cardinals would hold on for the 7-1 victory.
