The Plattsburgh State Cardinals pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2012-2013 ECAC West Tournament Champions. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host rival Elimra Soaring Eagles in the ECAC West Tournament Championship at the Plattsburgh State Field House. The Soaring Eagles would get the early lead on Tannis Lamoureux goal at the 2:36 mark of the first period. The Cardinals would tie the game up at 13:36 of the first period when Jenny Kistner's power play goal. Elimra would take the lead back at 4:35 of the second period Olivia Nystrom's goal. The Cardinals would tie it up again with 10 seconds left in the second period on Ali Vakos goal. Then at 11:32 of the third period Teal Gove would give the Cardinals there first lead of the night. Then just two minutes later the Cardinals would ectend the lead to 4-2 on Chelsea VanGlahn goal. As the Cardinals would get the 4-2 win Sydney Aveson would stop 22 of 24 shots on the night. With the win the Cardinals go to 25-0-2 on the season. With the win the Cardinals get the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament and will wait and see who they play in the Quarterfinals. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Jared Docking (39) comes in with the Geneseo defender all over his back as he slides it under the goalie for the goal to give the Cardinals the 2-0 lead. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Geneseo State Knights in the SUNYAC Semi-Finals at the Ronald B Stafford Memorial Arena. The game would remain scoreless until just 27 seconds into the second period when Dillan Fox would light the lamp to give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. Plattsburgh State's Jared Dockings would score at the 13:08 mark of second period to make it 2-0. Then with just under two minutes left in the second Kaz Iwanmotto would make it 2-1 at the end of the second period. Then just 53 seconds into the third Mark Constantine would score on the power play to make it 3-1. Then at 3:53 Alex Jensen would score on the same power play to make it 4-1 Cardinals. Then with 43 seconds left in third Connor Gorman would add the empty netter to give the Cardinals the 5-1 victory. In the winning effort, Mathieu Cadieux would stop 22 of 23 shots on the night as the Cardinals go to 19-6-1 on the season. Lloyd Clark with the solid kick right under the head that wabbles Andre Gil during the 155lb match at the Battle at Plattsburgh. The Xtreme Combat Promotions would come across the Lake and bring the first mixed martial arts fight to come to the North Country as they would invade the Crete Civic Center in Plattsburgh. There would be a total of seventeen fights on the night there would be some that would go the distance many of the fights would be called do to knockout or submission. The Crete would have around 1,000 raved MMA fight fans from the area that would show up for the bout and they would all leave happy and wanting more. Gallery

The #9 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons in SUNYAC hockey action. Plattsburgh State's Alex Brenton would give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead at the 10:37 mark of the first. That is where the game would remain until the 1:56 mark of the second period when the Red Dragons would tie it up on Adam Bevilacqua's goal. Plattsburgh State's Alex Brenton would light the lamp again at 10:56 mark of the second period to make it 2-1 Cardinals. The Cardinals would get two more goals in the third period from Connor Gorman and Kevin Emmerling to finish the game and get the 4-1 victory. Malone's Rachel Lamica (14) battles for the loose ball with the Ausable Valley player by the foul line. The Malone Huskies would host the Ausable Valley Patriots in non league action as the Huskies finish off the regular season. The game would be a defensive battle through out with both teams holding the other down. The Patroits would have the 14-8 lead after the first quarter. The Huskies would do there best to get in the game and a 20-18 lead at the break thanks to a 12-4 second quarter. Then when the teams returned for the third quarter it would stay tight as the Patroits would win the quarter 15-14 but the Huskies would still have the 34-33 lead. In the fourth quarter the Patroits defense would really step up as they would hold the Huskies to three points and win the quarter 10-3 to take the 43-37 victory. Malone's Coach Chuck Deivendorf is honored after the game for his 34 years service as the Coach of the Malone Huskies. He receives a plaque from the Malone Minor Hockey Club for his service. During his time ahead of the Huskies he has earned 308 wins. The Malone Huskies would host the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in Section X Division II action it would be Senior Night in Malone. The game would remain scoreless until the 8:14 mark of the second period when Malone's Tanner Studlack would light the lamp on the power play goal. The Huskies would score again on the power play at 12:46 of the second period when Cameron Daniels gets the goal. That would end the scoring for the night as the Huskies get the 2-0 win. The key to the Huskies win would be there ability to score on the power play. With the win the Huskies finish the regular season at 8-11-1. Beekmentown's Jon Graziane hits the the cross-face cradle while on the mat. The five section VII schools would meet at Saranac for the 2013 Section VII Wrestling Championship. There would be many good matches throughout the day with many of them going the distances and some needing the extra period. As a team Peru would defend there sectional title with a score of 244, 2nd Beekmentown 203, 3rd Saranac 169, 4th Northern Adirondack 155 and 5th Ausable Valley 79. We would like congratulate all the individual winners and wish them the best of luck at the State Championships in Albany at the Times Union Center on February 22nd and 23rd. Gallery

The Malone Huskies would host the Brushton-Moria Panthers in Section X action. The Huskies would leave little doubt in the game as they would take a 26-2 lead after the first. In the second quarter it would be more of the same as the Huskies would win the quarter 24-6 and take a 50-8 lead at the break. When the teams would return for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Huskies win the third 24-7 and take a 74-15 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter the Huskies would put on the finishing touches as they would win the quarter 22-6 to get the easy 96-21 victory. In the winning effort Nate Monnette would lead all scores with 21 points. With the win the Huskies finish off the regular season with a 17-1 record and win the central division. Gallery

The Malone Huskies seniors on the basketball and cheerleading teams would hold the flag during the Senior Night Ceremony before the game. The Malone Huskies would host the Massena Red Raiders in basketball action as part of the Section X Central Division action. The game would be very physical with many fouls called through out the games as both teams were looking for the edge. The Huskies would lead by a slim 20-19 after the first quarter. In the second quarter it would be more of the same as the Red Raiders would win the quarter 19-17 and take a 38-37 lead at the break. The third quarter would be were the Huskies would run away with the games as there defense would really step up as the Huskies win the third 19-5 and take a 56-43 lead after the third. The Red Raiders were unable to much of a run in the 4th as the Huskies would get the 75-61 victory. In the winning effort Jon Dubleavey would lead the with 15 points as the Huskies go to 16-1 on the season. Gallery

Chateaugay's Matt Swanston (11) wins the opening tip of the game with the tip forward to start the offense. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers in Section X East Division action as part of Senior Night. The Bulldogs would get off to a quick start as they would have a 21-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter they would outscore the Panthers 23-3 and take a 44-8 lead at intermission. In the second half it would be more of the same as the Bulldogs would score the Panthers 17-3 and cruise to the 61-11 victory. In the winning effort Devin Barnes would lead the way with 10 points.
