Beekmantown's Cameron Garceau (1) break up the pass in endzone attended for Saranac Lake's Dylan Gunther (11). The Beekmantown Eagles and Saranac Lake Red Storm would meet during week 6 of Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action. This would be a match of equally matched teams with most of the scoring coming in the first quarter. The Red Storm would strike twice and the Eagles once on Devin Fessetes score to make it 14-7 after one. Then in second quarter, the teams would trade scores with the Eagles score coming from Cameron Garceau to make it 21-14 Red Storm at the break. That is where the game would remain until the earlier part of the 4th when the Eagles would tie the game up at 21 on Justin Stevens running score. Although on the Red Storm drive they would march right down the field and score the game-winner to give the Red Storm the 28-21 victory. With the win, the Red Storm goes to 4-2 while the Eagles fall to 3-3 on the season.

Empire Football League Championship #2 Plattsburgh North Stars Vs #3 Syracuse Shock October 12 2013

Plattsburgh's Elisa Parks (35) with the stiff arm as he gets the edge and heads up the field. The Plattsburgh North Stars would host the Syracuse Shock in the Empire Football League Championship. The Shock would take the early 8-0 on their opening drive. The North Stars would fight right back and tie the game at 8 on Dexter Geoghan touchdown. Although the Shock would score one more before the end of the quarter to make it 14-8 Shock. The North Stars would take the 15-14 lead on Brett Boyers 62 yard touchdown score. From there on it would be a shocking game as they would have 22 unanswered points to secure the 36-15 victory for the championship. Gallery

The Eagles senior players giving out a signed soccer ball to there coach. The 3rd place Lake Placid Blue Bombers(5-2-1) beat the 6th place Westport Eagles(2-9-0) 3-1 in Boys MVAC Varsity Soccer. Stuart Baird(11), Blue Bombers, scored at 8:16 in the 1st assisted by Nzoni Thompson(8). Alex Brandes(13), Blue Bombers, scored at 16:23 in the 1st assisted by Shane McNierney. Ryan Davis(17), the Eagles, scored at 32:37 in the 1st. Pat Kane(6), Blue Bombers, scored at 33:14 in the 2nd assisted by Stuart Baird(11). The Eagles had 7 shots on goal, 9 saves, 1 corner kick, 0 fouls, and 0 offsides. The Blue Bombers had 9 shots on goal, 7 saves, 11 corner kicks, 0 fouls, and 0 offsides. This would be the final regular-season home game for the Eagles. The half time ceremony is available in the store. Gallery

The Lady Eagles coach giving out awards to the seniors. The 3rd place Crown Point Panthers(5-4-0) shut out the 4th place Westport Eagles(4-5-0) 1-0 in Girls MVAC Varsity Soccer. Christy McGuinness(7), the Panthers, scored at 30:16 in the 1st half assisted by Brittany Foote(13). The Lady Eagles had 6 shots on goal and 5 saves. Northern Adirondack Conference Girl's Soccer: #3 Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Colton-Peirpont Colts October 10 2013

Chateaugay's Brianna Cook (10) goes shoulder to shoulder Colton-Pierpont's Ashley Johnson (14) along the sidelines. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Colton-Pierpont Colts in Section X East Division action. The Bulldogs would take the 1-0 lead in the 27th minute on Hannah Cook's goal. That is where the game would remain until the 44th minute when Hannah Cook would strike again to make it 2-0 Bulldogs. Then in the 58th minute, the Bulldogs would make it 3-0 on Danielle Charland's goal. Then in the 64th minute, the Bulldogs and Danielle Charland would score again to make it 4-0. Then in the 74th minute, the Bulldogs score again this time from Brianna Cook to make it 5-0. Then in the 75th minute, Danielle Charland would finish off her hat trick to make it 6-0. In the winning effort, Kennedy Boyea would stop four shots for the shutout as the Bulldogs go to 11-0-1 on the season. Gallery

The Bulldogs would definitely come out be ready to play as they would take care of the Red Raiders in straight sets (25-11, 25-21, 25-12). Leading the way for the Bulldogs would be Caitlin Miller with seven kills and Kylie Hanley with eighteen assist. With the win, the Bulldogs remain undefeated as they would go to 12-0 on the season. Empire Football League Championship #2 Plattsburgh North Stars Vs #5 Glens Falls Greenjackets October 5 2013

Plattsburgh's Mackenize Haskins (21) and Mike Thompson (25) work together to bring down the Glens Falls running back. The Plattsburgh North Stars would host the Glens Falls Greenjackets in the semi-finals of the Empire Football League playoffs. The North Stars would have a 7-0 lead after the first quarter on DJ Barber's touchdown. The scoring would pick up in the second quarter with three scores by the two teams to make it a 21-6 North Stars lead at the breaks the North Stars scores would come from Dexter and Elisa Parks. In the second the Greenjackets would do there best to stay in the game and that's just what they did scoring twice but the North Stars would get one score late from Elisa Parks to secure the 28-20 victory. With the win, the Plattsburgh North Stars will host next week's championship game against the Syracuse Shock as the North Stars advanced to the there fifth straight title game. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football Week 6 Saranac Chiefs Vs #15 Peru Indians October 5 2013

Saranac's (24) wraps up the legs and holds tight to bring down Peru's Ryan Lovely (11). The Saranac Chiefs would host the Peru Indians in week 6 of the Champlain Valley Football League league season. It would be the battle of a couple of schools that just don't like each other and at times it would show. The Indians would strike first 3:30 on a fumble recovery in the endzone for a score to make it 7-0 Indians. Then at the 8-minute mark the Indians would score again this time hooking up with Zane Bazzano on a 45-yard pass to make it 14-0. The Chiefs would get on the broad just over a minute later on John Maye's touchdown run to make it 14-6. Then just three minutes into the second quarter the Indians would hit Bazzano again this time on a bomb to make it 20-6. Then just two minutes later it would be Bazzamo again to make it 27-6. Then as the first half would come to an end the Indians and Rivelino Hendricks would score from five yards out to make it 34-6 at the break. When the teams return for the second half it was more of the same as the Indians and Hendricks would score at the nine-minute mark to make it 41-6. From there on out the teams would cruise it on out. With the win, the Indians stay undefeated at 6-0 and the Chiefs fall to 2-4 on the season.

Chateaugay's Reid Laplante (2) within lose shot on net that is saved of the head of the St. Lawrence goalie Haiden St. Hilaire. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would battle the St. Lawrence Larries in Section X East Division action. The game would remain scoreless until the 34th minute when Nick Ashline would score on the header to give the Bulldogs the 1-0 lead assist to Chad Slater. The game would remain there until the 69th minute when Nick Ashline would score again for the Bulldogs this time hitting it off the crossbar and in to make 2-0 Bulldogs with the assist going to Seth Young. Then just two minutes later when Seth Young would score on the breakout to make it 3-0. The Larries would try to get back in the game with a goal just 20 seconds later on Matthew Frary to make it 3-1 but that's as far as they would get. The Bulldogs would hang on for the 3-1 victory. In the winning effort, Josh Trombley would make one save. With the win, the Bulldogs would go to 8-2-1 on the season. Gallery

The Bulldogs would cruise to the three games to zero victories by scores of 25-14, 25-8, 25-14. The Bulldog gets off to slow start but they pull it together and cross to the victory with solid team play as they go to 10-0 on the season. Gallery
