Plattsburgh State's Jenny Kistner (8) fights through the check along the broads. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host Castleton State in the home opener. The lone goal in the game would come from Cardinals Alyssa Parke at 3:49 on the second period to give the Cardinals the 1-0 win. In the winning effort, Cardinals Sydney Aveson would stop all sixteen shots for the shutout at the Cardinals go to 3-0 on the season. Gallery

North Country Flag Football Semi-Finals #1 Roto-Roters Vs #4 Mama's Boyz November 9 2013

Mama's Boyz Bruce with all out effort going for the interception before it touches the ground. In the 1st semi-final game of the Plattsburgh Flag Football League #1 Roto-Roters and #4 Mama's Boyz would lock up. The game would just be a 7-0 Roto-Roters lead at the break. Then in second half there offense would wake up and score three touchdowns for the 28-0 victory. With the victory Roto-Roters advanced to the title game. Gallery

North Country Flag Football Quarterfinals #4 Mama's Boyz Vs #5 Northeast Monsters November 9 2013

Mama's Boyz' Justin Mahan (26) brings it in for the catch along the sidelines. #4 Mama's Boyz would matchup with #5 Northeast Monsters in the first round. It would be 7-0 Mama's Boyz at the break. When the teams came back for the second half Mama's Boyz defense would step up and help them get two scores for the 21-0 victory. With the win Mama's Boyz advance to semis against Roto-Rooters. North Country Flag Football Quarterfinals #3 North Country Rebels Vs #6 Peabodies/Kneucraft November 9 2013

Peabody's' Brandon St. John (2) with the diving catch along the sidelines for the first down. #3 North Country Rebels would meet the #6 Peabodies/Kneucraft in the first quarterfinal game. The Rebels would take a 13-0 lead into the break thanks to some good field goal kicking. In the second half the Rebels defense would get them two scores to secure the 31-0 victory. With the win the Rebels would advance to the semifinals. Gallery

SUNYAC Men's Hockey #4 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Geneseo State Ice Knights November 8 2013

Plattsburgh State's Connor Gorman (11) rides Geneseo's Jack Caradonna (7) into the broads on the check. The #4 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Geneseo State Ice Knights in SUNYAC action. The game would start good for the Cardinals Barry Rotyman would light the lamp to make it 1-0 Cardinals just four minutes in on the power play. The Cardinals would add another special teams goal this time shorthanded as Michael Radisa would make it 2-0 Cardinals with 26 seconds left in the first. When the teams came out for 2nd period the Cardinals didn't let up as Kevin Emmerling would score two minutes in to make it 3-0. Then at the nine-minute mark the Knights would get on the broad with Stephen Collins goal to make it 3-1. Then with 4:30 left in the second period Barry Rotyman would get his second of the net to secure the 4-1 victory. In the winning effort Mathieu Cadieux would stop 23 of 24 shots as the Cardinals go to 2-0 on the season. Gallery

NYSPHSAA Class D Volleyball First Round Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Lake Placid Blue Bombers November 6 2013

Chateaugay's Kim Reville (3) with the two-handed push shot for the point. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would meet the Lake Placid Blue Bombers in the first round of the New York State Class D Volleyball Tournament. The upset-minded Lake Placid Blue Bombers would be taken out of there game early and the Chateaugay Bulldogs would get the easy straight-sets to win in just over an hour. The scores of the three games are 25-12 25-16 25-10. With the win the Bulldogs go to 20-0 on the season and will travel to Gloversville on November 9 to take on Waterford for the right to go the final four. Gallery

Section X Overall Championship #1 Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs #2 Malone Huskies November 4 2013

Malone's Rachel Lamica (8) with the jumping spike to the back corner for the point pass Chateaugay's Caitlin Miller (21). The Chateaugay Bulldogs and Malone Huskies would meet for the Section X championship. The Bulldogs would get the straight-set victory by scores of 33-31, 25-20, 25-19. With the Huskies having to play an earlier match against Potsdam and a long first game the freshness of the Bulldogs would come into play. With the win the Bulldogs perfect season continues at 19-0. North Country Flag Football Malinaik Masonry Vs Northeast Monsters November 3 2013

Malinak Masonry's Chris Verkee with the interception as he id falling to the ground. Malinak Masonry and Northeast Monsters would meet in the regular-season finale. Malinaik would control the game from the start. As they would have three first-half touchdowns two from Pete Wheatley and for the 21-0 lead at the break. In the second it would be more of the same with scores from Clint McCool and Andrew Castine to secure the 42-0 victory. With the win the Malinaik Masonry would secure a bye in next week's playoffs. Section VII Class B Championship #1 Peru Indians Vs #2 Beekmantown Eagles November 3 2013

Beekmantown's Justin Stevens (22) lowers the boom on the Peru defender going for the tackle and carries on for the extra yards. The Beekmantown Eagles and Peru Indians would meet in the Section VII Class B Championship at Ausable Valley with a berth in the state tournament on the line. Beekmantown would take the 7-0 lead on their first drive of the game on a Justin Stevens 11 yard run. Then inside the last minute of the first quarter Justin Stevens would strike again to give the Eagles the 14-0 lead. Peru would get on the broad 11 seconds into the second quarter on a Ryan Lovely 45 yard touchdown reception to make it 14-7. Beekmantown would answer back 4 minutes later on a Devin Fesette 60 yard touchdown run to make it 20-7. Peru's Taylor Avanzato would score on a 5 yard run at 7:52 of the second quarter to make it 20-14. Then to end the second quarter fury Justin Stevens would score from 17 yards out to make it 27-14 with 2.13 left til halftime. In the third quarter Zane Bazzano would have the lone score of a 14-yard touchdown at 8:13 to make it 27-21 Eagles. Then 2:28 Zane Bazzano and the Indians would strike again to give the Indians there first lead of the day. The Eagles wouldn't give up though and after an Indian fumble Justin Stevens would score for his third touchdown of the day to give the Eagles the 33-28 lead and win. With the win the Beekmantown Eagles go to 5-4 on the season and play the Malone Huskies in the Quarterfinals of the State Tournament on November 9th at Ausable Valley. Gallery

Section VII Class C Championship: #1 Saranac Lake Red Storm Vs #2 Saranac Chiefs November 3 2013

Saranac's Tanner Rascoe (3) with the throwdown tackle of Saranac Lake's Dylan Gunther (11) along the far sidelines to save a touchdown. In the second game of the championship, Saturday the Saranac Lake Red Storm would meet the Saranac Chiefs in the Class C Championship. Saranac Lake would have the only score in the first quarter on Dylan Gunther 11 yard touchdown reception with 3:06 left to make it 7-0 Red Storm. Then just 1:19 into the second quarter the Chiefs would tie the game up on John Maye's touchdown. Then just three minutes later Maye would strike again to make it 14-7 Chiefs. The Red Storm would answer back with 4:03 left in the half on a short field goal to make it 14-10. The Chiefs would extend there lead to 21-10 on John Maye's third touchdown of the day with 1:57 left before half. Saranac Lake would strike quick and make it 21-16 at the half on Dan Strack's touchdown. When the teams would return for second half the Red Storm would take there first lead of the game at 3:50 of the third on short touchdown run to give them 24-21 lead. That is where the score would remain until the Chiefs would retake the lead on John Maye's fourth touchdown of the day at 28-24 with 4:03 left in the game. Then with just 1 minute left in the game the Red Storm would get the game-winning touchdown to Dylan Gunther for the 30-28 win. With the win the Red Storm goes to 5-4 on the season and will play Ogdensburg in State Tournament first-round November 8th at Potsdam. Gallery
