Upstate New York Girl's Hockey League St. Lawerence Larries Vs Lake Placid Blue Bombers December 6 2012

St. Lawerence's Brooke Reville (16) shoots the puck right off the crossbar looking for the goal. The St. Lawerence Larries would host the Lake Placid Blue Bombers in Malone in Girls Hockey as part of the schools joined the team. The game would be a great competition as the two teams were evenly matched. The game would remain scoreless until 5 minutes into the second period when Lake Placid's Brooke Reid would light the lamp to give the Blue Bombers the 1-0 lead. That is where the game would remain until the last few seconds of the game when Lake Placid's Brooke Ried would score again in the empty net to secure the 2-0 win. With the lose the Larries fall to 0-3 on the season. In the losing effort, Stephaine Peets would have 26 saves. Gallery

Northern Adirondack Conference Boy's Hockey Malone Huskies Vs Norwood-Norfolk Icemen December 11 2013

Malone's Trevor Coley (12) with the crunching hit along the end boards. The Malone Huskies would host the Norwood-Norfolk Icemen in Northern Athletic Conference action. The Icemen would get the games first tally 4:52 on Austin Cousineau's goal to make it 1-0 Icemen. Then at 6:49 mark of the period the Icemen would strike again on Kaden Pickerings' powerplay goal to make it 2-0. Then at 11:56 of the first Kyler Head would score for the Huskies to cut the lead in half at 2-1. The Icemen would answer back though before the period ended to make it 3-1 Icemen at the end of the first. The Icemen would extend the lead to 4-1 on Colby Munson's power-play goal at 7:17 of the second. Then just 30 seconds later Huskies Josh Trombley would keep them within two at 4-2. Then just 30 seconds into the third period the Icemen would extend the lead to 5-2 Colby Munson's second goal of the night. Then at 7:44 Autin Cousineau would get his second of the night to make it 6-2. The Huskies would fight till the end and get a late goal by Jake Henning but the Huskies would fall 6-3. In the losing effort Joey Brown would have 32 saves as the fall to 2-1 on the season. Gallery

Northern Adirondack Conference Boy's Basketball Malone Huskies Vs Gouverneur Wildcats December 9 2013

Malone's Christopher Poupure (4) with the tight defense on Gouverneur's Troy Gates (13) as part of the full-court defense in the corner. The Malone Huskies would host the Gouverneur Wildcats in Section X Central Division action. The Huskies would hold the slim 11-8 lead after the first quarter. The game would remain tight at the half with the Huskies having a 23-19 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the game would stay tight with the Huskies having a 35-30. Then in the fourth quarter both teams offenses would come alive but the Huskies proved to have enough as they outscored them 22-19 for the 57-49 victory. In the winning effort Malone's Alex Johnson would lead the way with 19 points as the Huskies go to 3-0 on the season. Gallery

ECAC Men's Hockey #10 Clarksn Golden Knights Vs St. Lawrence Saints December 6 2013

Clarkson's Greg Lewis (33) makes the glove save on the breakaway attempt. The #10 Clarkson Golden Knights would host crosstown rival the St. Lawrence Saints in ECACHL action in front of the third biggest Cheel Arena crowd at 3,965. The Saints would get the first goal of the game on the power-play from Jeremy Wick at 6:30 of the first. The Golden Knights would answer and tie the game up at 9:28 of the first on a TJ Moor power-play goal. The Golden Knights would take the lead at 2-1 on Simon Bessette's goal at 14:25 of the first. Then in the last minute of the first Jeremy Wick would get his second power-play goal of the night to tie the game at 2. That is where the game would stay till the last minute of the second period when the Saints would take the 3-2 lead on Matt Carey's goal. Then at 6:09 of the third period Clarkson's Jarrett Burton would tie the game at three. Then on the power-play Jeff DiNallo would give the Golden Knights the 4-3 lead at 10:57. Then just over 30 seconds later the Golden Knights would extend there lead to 5-3 on Troy Joseph's goal. The Saints wouldn't go quite though as Matt Carey would get his second of the night to make it 5-4 with two minutes left in the game. The Golden Knights would hold on from there for the 5-4 win. In the winning effort Greg Lewis would make 17 saves as the Golden Knights go to 11-3-1 on the season. Gallery

NYSPHSAA Girl's Basketball Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Northern Adirondack Bobcats December 4 2013

Chateaugay's Abby Barnes (24) drives by the defender and continues onto the hoop for the basket. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host their neighbors the Northern Adirondack Bobcats in non-league action. The game would start off tight actually as tight as it could get as they would be tied at 10 after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Bulldogs would pull ahead barely as they would have 25-22 lead at the break. When the teams would return for the second half the Bobcats defense would step in the third quarter as the Bobcats would outscore the Bulldogs 17-5 and take the 39-30 lead after three. The Bulldogs would try there best in the fourth to get back in the game but their efforts would come up short and they would fall 48-39 to the Bobcats. Even with the Bulldogs lose Danielle Charland and Abby Barnes would each have 11 points as they fall to 0-1. Gallery

NYSPHSAA Girl's Basketball Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Northern Adirondack Bobcats (JV) December 4 2013

Chateaugay's Madison Green (24) dives on the ball on the court to secure the Bulldogs possession. It would be the start of the JV season as the Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Northern Adirondack Bobcats. The Bulldogs would take the early 16-6 lead after the first quarter and not look back. The Bulldogs would extend there lead to 26-15 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Bulldogs would win the quarter making it 40-25. Then in the fourth quarter the Bulldogs would just need to cruise as they would secure the 45-35 victory. In the winning effort Alica Cook would lead the way with 18 points as the Bulldogs go to 1-0 on the season. Gallery

Upstate New York Girl's Hockey League St. Lawrence Larries Vs Beekmantown Eagles December 3 2013

St. Lawrence's Holly Zeldenrust (31) makes the stick save on Beekmantown's Madison Beauchemin (26). The St. Lawrence Larries would play the Beekmantown Eagles in Upstate New York Girls Hockey in Malone. The game would start out rough for the Larries as they would give up three first period goals. The second period would be more of the same as they would give up another three to make it 6-0. Then in the last period the Eagles would add another two as the Eagles would cruise to the 8-0 win over the Larries. With the lose the Larries fall to 0-1 on the season. The Larries goaltender Holly Zeldenrust would do her best to keep them alive stopping 52 of 60 shots. Gallery

Northern Adirondack Conference Boy's Hockey Malone Huskies Vs #15 Ogdensburg Blue Devils December 3 2013

Malone's Josh Trombley (22) pins Ogensburg's Jarred Barr (7) along the end boards and battles for the puck. The Malone Huskies would host the Ogdensburg Blue Devils to get the Section X Hockey season underway. The game would remain scoreless all the way till the third period when Malone's Jake Henning would get the game's first goal at 1:10 to give the Huskies 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 11th minute of the third when the Blue Devils would tie it up on Jon Taylor's goal. The Huskies would keep scraping though and get the game-winner with just over two minutes left when Bailey Conklin would score on the breakaway to give the Huskies the 2-1 win. With the win the Huskies get there season started off right at 1-0. Gallery

NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Primelink Great Northern Shootout Championship #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #15 Middlebury Panthers November 30 2013

Plattsburgh State's Connor Gorman (11) with the hip check on Middlebury's Ronald Fishman (14) along the broads. The #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would play #15 Middlebury in the Championship of the Primelink Great Northern Shootout. The game would start well for the Cardinals as Connor Gorman would light the lamp 3:29 into the game to give the Cardinals the early 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 just over two minutes later on Dakota Mason's goal. Then with just under two minutes left in the period would add another one on Michael Radisa's goal to give the Cardinals the convincing 3-0 lead after the first period. That is where the game would stay until 11:12 of the third period when the Panthers would get their lone goal from Louis Belisle to make it 3-1. From there on the Cardinals would hold check to get the 3-1 victory and there 4th Primelink Great Northern Shootout Championship. In the winning effort Matthieu Cardieux would make 20 saves and be named the MVP of the tournament. With the win the Cardinals stay undefeated at 8-0-1 on the season. Gallery

NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Primelink Great Northern Shootout #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Wisconsin Superior Yellow Jackets November 29 2013

Plattsburgh State's Mathieu Cadieux (34) with the body save that he traps for no chance at a rebound. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would meet the Wisconsin-Superior Yellow Jackets in the semi-finals of the 16th edition of the Primelink Great Northern Shootout in Plattsburgh. Plattsburgh's Michael Cassidy would get the home Cardinals on the broad first at 6:31 of the first period to make it 1-0. The Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 on Alex Benton's goal at the 9:43 mark. The Yellow Jackets would cut the lead in half at 12;57 of the first period when Anton Stevenson would light the lamp to make it 2-1. The Cardinals would extend the lead back to two just over a minute into the second when Dillan Fox would score to make it 3-1. The game would stay there until the last minute of the game when Alex Jensen would add an empty netter to secure the Cardinals 4-1 victory. In the winning effort Mathieu Cadieux would make 19 saves as the Cardinals would advance to the Great Northern Shootout championship game. Gallery
