Saranac's Isaac Garman (88) with the diving catch on a fade route for the first down. It would be week four of the Champlain Valley Football League and the Saranac Chiefs would travel to Moriah for the game against the Vikings. The game would go back and forth throughout. The Vikings would take the 6-0 lead near the end of the first quarter on a touchdown run from Ethan Java to make it 6-0 Vikings. Then early in the second quarter, the Chiefs would tie the game up a touchdown pass to Andy LeBeau. That is where the game would stay til there was 1:30 left in the third when Ethan Java would score again and they would get the two-point conversion to make it 14-6 Vikings. Then with under three minutes left in the game, the Vikings would extend the lead to 21-6 on Ethan Java's third touchdown of the day. In the closing minute of the game, the Chiefs would score to make the final look better as Luke Maye would score on the QB sneak to make the final score 21-12. In the winning effort, the Vikings would go to 2-2 while the Chiefs would go to 0-4 on the season. Gallery

Moriah's Ethan Java (13) breaks out of the pack for the 15-yard touchdown. Saranac's Logan Matthews (10) with the pass break up on the attempt to Saranac Lake's Joe Viscardo (6) It would be week two of the Champlain Valley Athletic League with the Saranac Chiefs would be hosting the Saranac Lake Red Storm. The Red Storm would jump out to the quick 7-0 lead Brandon Meyers touchdown run. The Red Storm would extend their advantage to 13-0 on Joe Viscardo's touchdown reception. The Chiefs would cut the lead the deficit in half on the long touchdown reception for Isaac Garman and that's where the game would be at the half. The Red Storm would regain the 13 point lead on Joe Viscardo second touchdown on the day at 8:07 of the third quarter. Then with just under four minutes left in the game, they would extend it to 23-6 on a short field goal. As the clock would expire on the game the Chiefs would get a score on the quarterback keeper by Luke Maye to close out the 23-12 victory for the Red Storm. Plattsburgh Mitch Senecal (8) sneaks through for the touchdown as he loses his helmet as he goes over the goal line. It would be the opening night of the Champlain Valley football season as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Chiefs. The Hornets would get the first score of the game on a 2 yard run by Brady Pennington to make it 6-0 at the 7:30 mark. The Hornets would extend there lead to 12-0 a 31-yard interception return Harney just 38 seconds later. The Hornets would extend there lead to 18-0 on a 33-yard touchdown reception by Ben Champagne and take that 18-0 lead into the intermission. The game would stay there till 36 seconds of the fourth quarter when Mitch Senecal would score on the QB sneak to make it 25-0 Hornets. Then in the closing minutes of the game, Jason Moore would score on a 52-yard bomb to secure the 33-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets would break a 29 game losing streak and start the season at 1-0 as the Saranac Chiefs fall to 0-1 to start the season. Gallery
