Mark Lamberton (44), Tom Remington (54), and Eric Lauziere (28) take it third wide as they are coming off turn two during the sportsmen modified feature event. After rain would delay the start of the season by a week the fans would be treated to the start of the Airborne Park Speedway in the Econo Lodge Season Opener. There would great racing throughout the night from the heat races to the features. In what was probably the best race of the night Shawn Duquette and Lance Rabtoy would race side by side for many laps for the race lead in the Renegade 30 lap feature with the win eventually going to Shawn Duquette. In the other races on the night, Russell Duchaine would win the Mini-Modifieds, Jake Branham in the Sportsman Modified and Jessey Mueller in the 358 Modified. Next weekend at Airborne Park Speedway there will be a doubleheader of racing action on Friday night they will be having an Endro Race and Demolition Derby and then on Saturday night, they will have there regular racing featuring the ACT 100 Speculator.

Neil Martin (9) and Dale O'Neil on the parade laps before the mini-modified heat race. It would be the Econo Lodge season opener at Airborne Park Speedway. The racing was scheduled to start at 5pm but rain would fall off and one throughout the evening delaying action. The Airborne Park Speedway staff would do there best to dry the track and on two separate occasions they would have the track dried and ready to go only to have the rains come again. So there would be no racing on this given night and season will get started next Saturday night May 10 with the KD Trailer Sales Fan Appreciation Night race time scheduled for 5 pm.
