The game would be close at 1-0 until the third inning, Then in the third inning the Bulldogs would explode for five runs and then pick up three more runs to cruise to the 9-1 win. Malone's Katie Lamica (5) with the shot to the outfield for a solid hit. The Malone Huskies would win a slugfest with the Salmon River Shamrocks 10-9 in the home opener. In the opening inning the huskies would strike for runs. Although the Shamrocks would strike right back with 3 in the second to make it 4-3. Then between the third and fourth the Huskies would get 5 runs making it 9-3. Then in the fifth through seventh the Shamrocks would stage a comeback scoring 6 runs but the Huskies would get 1 in the sixth to secure the 10-9 win. In the winning effort, Annie Sharlow would strike out nine. With the win, the Huskies start the season at 1-0. Gallery
