It would be opening night for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals Women's basketball team as they host the Plymouth State Panthers in the first round of the Cardinal Classic. It would be a very even game throughout the first quarter as the Cardinals would have the slimest of leads at 12-11 at the end of the first. The Panthers would comeback and inch ahead as they would win the quarter 19-13 and have a 30-25 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Panthers would inch further ahead as they win the quarter 12-11 and have a 42-36 lead as they ahead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Cardinals would do the best to make up the difference but it wouldn't be enough as they would tie the quarter at 17 and fall in the game 59-53. In the losing effort Taylor Durrin and Taylor Clare would lead the way with nine points as the Cardinals fall to 0-1 on the season. Gallery.
