The game would stay there till the second period when the Spartans would extend their lead to 2-0 on the Landen Duprey goal at the 1:23 mark. The Spartans would look to take control of the game of the game as Landen Duprey would strike again and the Spartans would take a 3-0 lead 5 minutes into the second period. The Lakers would keep fighting throughout the period and break through and break up the shutout at the 10;41 mark of the period when Kellen Duffy would score and make it a 3-1 game. The game would stay there the rest of the period and till the 9:36 mark of the third period, Adrian Barmes would score and make it a 4-1 game. Then with 2:30 left in the game, the Spartans would put the icing on the cake as Brody MaCombwe would score and the Saranac Spartans secured the 5-1 win. In the winning effort, Shawn McLane would make 23 saves as they go to 7-6-1 on the season while the Lakers fall to 3-7-1 on the season.
