Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers @ Beekmantown Eagles Champlain Valley Athleltic Conference Boys Hockey February 10th 2022

Beekmantown's DJ Gonyo (27) with the hit on Saranac Lake-Lake Placid's Bailey Bartholomew (7) to keep the Lakers away from the net. It would be the third matchup of the season between the last members of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference title game as the Beekmantown Eagles would host the Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers. The game would start off good for the home Eagles as they would get the opening goal of the game at the 5:41 mark of the first period from Sam Bingel. Although just over two minutes later the Lakers would get the equalizer from Noah Munn to tie the game at one. Then with just over three minutes left in the period, the Eagles would retake the lead at 2-1 on the shorthanded goal from Cooper Burdo to end the first period. Then just 2:44 into the second period would get their first two-goal lead of the night on the Reagan Dudyak goal at 3-1. The Lakers would keep fighting and get the game back to 3-2 at the 4:14 mark on the Jon Kratts goal. The Eagles would reclaim their two-goal lead at 4-2 on the Louis Sweenor powerplay goal. Although with just about 3:30 left in the period Lakers would bring it back to 4-3 on the goal from Hugo Hobson on the two-man advantage to end the scoring in the second period. Then in the third period, the Eagles would put the finishing touches on the game as they would light the lamp three times from Sam Bingel (second of the night), Zachary Lapier, and Anthony Marion to secure the 7-4 victory. Next up for the Eagles will be a meeting with the Saranac Chiefs on February 12th. Gallery
