Northeastern Clinton's Reid Lavalley (2) cuts down in front of the net trying to slam it away but would later score in the game. It would be the opening game of the return of the Applebee's Winter Classic and it would see the Rye Garnets and the Northeastern Clinton Cougars. It would be a great start for the Garnets as they would score four times in the opening period from Aidan Cunningham, Reece Dorfman, and Cal McLoughlin (twice). In the second period, the Garnets would stay hot and get another five goals from Lukas Elovaara, Cal McLoughlin (a third of the night), Henry Bagley (twice), and Kevin Curran while Reid LaValley would score for the Cougars to get them on the board and make it 9-1 after the second period. In the third period, the Garnets would stay hot as they would get another four goals from Liam Draddy, Foster Richardson, and Dempsey Brown (twice and get the 13-1 victory. In the winning effort, they go to 2-0 on the season with a matchup on December 19th against Beekmantown while the Northern Clinton Cougars go to 0-1-1 and play Storm next. Gallery.
