The game would be scoreless until Matt McCleod scored 2 minutes into the second period and Castleton State would tie it up at 1 with 6 minutes left in the second to go into intermission tied at 1. Alex Jensen would give the Cardinals the lead back 2-1 5 minutes into the third. Then Alex Brenton would get the eventual game-winner 4 minutes later.
