The Malone Huskies would open there Section X regular season against the Potsdam Sandstoners as both teams were looking to get off to a good start. The Huskies and Sandstoners would plat tight through the first quarter and the Huskies would hold a 15-10 after the quarter. In the second quarter, the Huskies would start out on an 8-0 and take that to a 27-17 lead at the break. In the third quarter, the Sandstoners would do there best to stat close but the Huskies would extend the lead to 38-26. In the fourth quarter, the Huskies athletes would just be too much for the Sandstoners and take the 55-35 victory. In the winning effort, Jon Dunleavy would lead the way with 15 points.
