It would be the third-place game of the Primelink Great Northern Shootout featuring the #11 Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the Middlebury Panthers. The Cardinals would jump out and take the 2-0 lead after the first on goals from Nick Belger and Brady Pfaff. In the second period, the Panthers would fight back and get two goals of there own to tie it at 2. In the third period, the Cardinals would ice the game away with three goals from Jesse Neher, Pat Egan, and Joe Drabin to secure the 5-2 victory.
