Plattsburgh State's Ayrton Valente (15) crashes the net and gets the goal on the rebound. It would be a rematch of last year's SUNYAC championship as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Geneseo State Knights. The Knights would get two goals in the first period for the early 2-0 lead. In the early part of the second period the Cardinals would get two quick goals from Aryton Valente Scuyker Seyfert to tie the game at two. The Knights would regain the lead at 3-2 n a Connor Anthonie goal. The Cardinals would come back and tie the game back up at three on Pat Egan's goal. Although the Knights would answer back 42 seconds later to regain the one-goal lead at 4-3. At the ten minute mark of the third period the Knights would extend there lead to 5-3. With just over six minutes left the Cardinals would make it a one-goal game at 5-4 on Gavin Yates's goal. The Cardinals would fight through the rest but it wouldn't be enough as they fall short 5-4.
