Plattsburgh's Lytrell Walker (4) steps around defender and lays it in. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles in SUNYAC Women's Basketball action. The game would not start off that great for the home Cardinals as they would trail the Golden Eagles 16-9 after the first quarter. When the teams came back from the time out for the second quarter it would be more of the same as the Golden Eagles would win the half 16-8 and the Cardinals would trail 32-17 at the half. When the teams return for the second half the Cardinals would some adjustments in the locker room and would win the quarter 27-18 although they would still trail 50-44. The rush by the Cardinals would not be enough though as the Golden Eagles would win the last quarter 16-7. With that being the said the Cardinals would fail 66-51. In losing Theresea Quinn would lead the way with 17 points as the Cardinals fall to 4-7 on the season. Gallery.

Plattsburgh State's Axel Rodriquez (2) drives down and lays the floater up and off the window as part of a fifteen point night. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles in SUNYAC Men's Basketball action. This would be a game that the young bird would have a hard time keeping up with the Golden Eagles and would trail 46-35 after the first half. When the team return for the second half the Cardinals wouldn't have much of an answer as the Golden Eagles win the second half 48-37 and get the 94-72 victory. In the losing effort Nick Deangelios and Adam Jaquish would have sixteen points as the Cardinals fall to 4-7 on the season. Gallery.

Plattsburgh State’s Adam Jaquish (24) stumbles as he challenges Geneseo’s Terence Rogers (32) for possession of a loose ball. The Plattsburgh State men’s basketball team’s 29-game home winning streak came to an end as SUNYAC play came to Memorial Hall, with a narrow 61-59 defeat at the hands of the Geneseo Knights. The first half set the tone for the tight affair, as the lead changed hands 10 times in the half, with Geneseo leading by as much as 5, while Plattsburgh’s largest lead stood at 3. Geneseo lead by a point with seconds remaining in the half before freshman Erik Salo beat the buzzer with a layup to send the Cardinals to the locker room with a 31-30 lead. Plattsburgh came out strong in the second half, building their lead to as much as 9. The Cardinals stayed in front through nearly the entire half, until a layup by Michael Gannon took the lead for the Knights with 27 seconds left on the clock. Gannon added a free throw to extend the lead to two. In the dying seconds of the game, Adam Jaquish made the would-be game-tying field goal just after time expired to end the game, sealing the Cardinals’ defeat. The loss ended Plattsburgh’s streak of wins in Memorial Hall, which encompassed the entire 2018-2019 season, and dropped the Cardinals to a 1-2 record in SUNYAC play. Gallery.

Plattsburgh State's Ross Sloan (26) cuts in front of the net going for the go-ahead goal. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals hosted the Brockport State Golden Eagles in SUNYAC conference action. The game would be tight from the start. The opening goal of the game would come at the 8:06 mark of the second period and the Golden Eagles would take the 1-0 lead of the second period. The Cardinals would fight back and tie the game at the 13:15 mark of the second period on Ryan Kuhn goal. That would be all the scoring in the game and it would finish in a 1-1 tie. In the effort, Jimmy Poreda would make 28 saves on the night as the Cardinals go to 3-0-1 on the season. Gallery

It would be the season opener and start of a new era for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles in the season opener and first game with Steve Moffitt behind the bench. The game would be scoreless through the first period and the Eagles would get the first goal by Doc Gentzler at 1:14 of the second period on the power play. The Cardinals would respond back and tie the game at one about five minutes later on the Matt Araujo goal. Although not even a minute later the Cardinals would regain the one goal lead on the Ethan Solat goal. Then the Eagles would extend there lead to 3-1 at the 10:40 mark of the second period on the goal by Mitchell Parson. That would be the last of the scoring on the night and the Cardinals would fall 3-1 in the first game of the season. The Golden Eagles would take the early 1-0 lead just 2:17 into the game. That would be the only scoring all the way til the 6:48 mark of the third period when Matt Araujo would score to tie the game at one. The Cardinals would take the lead just 80 seconds later on Cole Stallard's goal to make it a 2-1 Cardinals lead. The Cardinals would add a empty netter in the closing minute from Ross Sloan to secure the 3-1 victory. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Cardinals would play shutdown defense and win the quarter 12-8 and the Cardinals would take a 38-36 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter the Cardinals would hold serve with a 16-14 quarter and the Cardinals would secure the 54-50 victory. When the teams came back out for the second half it would be more of the same the Cardinals would pull away late for a 47-41 half to secire the 88-82 victory in the winning effort Jonathan Patron would lead the way with 34 points as the Cardinals go to 15-4 on the season.Gallery
