Northeastern Clinton's Lucas Hemingway (13) takes it around Beekmantown's Louis Sweenor (55) as they pass the blue line into the offense zone. It would be the semi-finals of the Section VII Boy's Hockey D2 playoffs. The #1 Beekmantown Eagles would be hosting the #4 Northeastern Clinton Cougars who advance to the semi-finals earlier in the week with a win over the Plattsburgh Hornets. The winner of this semi-final match would advance to the Section VII Championship on February 27th against the winner of the Saranac Chiefs and Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers game. The game would start off well for the home Eagles as they would get the opening goal of the game just 29 seconds into the game on the Luke Moser goal. The Cougars would come right back though and tie the game up at the 5:41 mark of the period on the Marcus Bedard goal. The Eagles would keep swinging and take the lead back at the halfway mark of the period when Zack Lapier would light the lamp and give the Eagles the 2-1 lead. The Eagles would be able to expand their lead to two goals at 3-1 at the 14:11 mark on the Sam Bingel goal and that's where the first period would come to an end. When the teams returned for the second the Cougars would score 3:50 into the second to make it a one-goal game at 3-2 on the Willie Simpson goal. Although the one-goal game would be short-lived as Luke Moser would answer just 68 seconds later to make it a 4-2 game again. Then with just over a minute left in the period Eagles Sam Bingel would get the second goal of the game to send them into the locker room with a 5-2 lead. The Eagles would extend their lead to 6-2 on the short-handed goal at the 10:10 mark of the third period when Zack Lapier scored. Then in the final four minutes of the game, the Eagles would add three more goals from Lee Jarus, Louis Sweenor, and Keegan Seamone as they would get the 9-2 victory. In the winning effort, Austin Dosir would make 26 saves on the night as the Eagles advance to Section VII Championship and the Northeastern Clinton Cougars season would come to end at Gallery

The Eagles would strike first and quick with the Zach Lapier goal to make it a 1-0 Eagles 3:10 into the game. Then just over five minutes later the Eagles would score again to make it a 2-0 lead on the Sam Bingel goal. Then in the closing seconds of the period, the Eagles would make it 3-0 on the Quinn Brandell goal. The game would stay there till the 9:48 mark of the second period when Louis Sweenor would snip in from the blue line and make it a 4-0 game. Then just two minutes later the Eagles would make it a 5-0 game as Luke Moser would score from the slot. Then with 40 seconds left in the period Parker Broughton would score on the scramble in front of the net for the 6-0 game. The game would stay there always till the last minute of the game when Luke Moser would get his second of the game for the 7-0 win. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles would win the regular season crown and take the first seed in the upcoming playoffs and will meet up with the winner of Northeastern Clinton and Plattsburgh Hornets in the semi-final. It would be the rare high school boy's hockey game on a Sunday as this was a makeup game from earlier in the season. It would feature the #2 Beekmantown Eagles hosting the Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers. The home Eagles would strike first and quickly just 1:25 into the first period when would throw in the rebound from Sam Bingel for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there through the rest of the period and the first 3:38 of the second period when Keegin Rodier would light the lamp and make it a 2-0 game and that's where the second period would end. Then just 3:59 into the third period the Eagles would strike again this time from Caleb Peryer for the 3-0 lead. The Eagles would keep the offense going this time on the shorthand as Sam Bingel would break in on net and get the goal for the 4-0 lead. The Eagles would keep coming and score again just 2:30 later on the Cooper Burdo goal and make it a 5-0 lead. Then with just under two minutes left in the game, the Eagles would finish off the Lakers as Parker Broughton would snip in the top of the net to secure the 6-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Eagles would go to 15-1-2 on the season as Austin Dosier would make 13 saves for the shutout as the Lakers fall to 5-7 on the season. It would be a mid-season matchup outside the conference but o what it matchup it would be as it would pit the top 2 in new york state boy hockey #2 Beekmantown Eagles would host the #1 Salmon River Shamrocks from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena in front of a very spirited and well-attended crowd. It wouldn't take long till we had our first goal of the game as Salmon River's (17) would light the lamp just 3:20 into the game. Although the Eagles come right back down and tie the game back up at one of Zack Lapier's goals just a minute later. Although at the thirteen-minute mark, the Shamrocks would get two quick ones just 100 seconds apart from 7 and 17 as the Shamrocks lead the game 3-1 after the first period. When the teams returned for the second the competitive spirit of the game would stay on high and at the 7:32 mark of the period Zack Lapier would score again for the Eagles to make it a 3-2 game. Although with just over two minutes left in the period would fight back to get their two-goal lead again on the Cook goal to make it 4-2 Shamrocks after the second period. The Eagles would waste little time in the third period making it a one-goal game again on the Sam Bingel just 40 seconds in to make it a 4-3 game. Then with just six minutes left in the game, the Eagles would finally get the equalizer as Lapier would get his hat trick goal and end up sending the game to overtime tie at four. In the extra frame, there would be a penalty called on Beekmantown's Sam Bingel and with the powerplay, the Shamrocks would take care of business on the Cook goal. The Beekmantown Eagles celebrate their hard-fought victory to stay atop the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference standings. It would be standing room only at the Amer-can North Sports Complex tonight as it would be a match-up of a pair of teams ranked inside the top 15 in the state as the #14 Saranac Chiefs Chiefs coming in on 6 games winning streak hosting the #2 Beekmantown Eagles that came in unbeaten on the season. It would take till the 6-minute mark of the first period before we had our first goal between these two high-spirited teams when Sam Bingel would light the lamp twice in that minute to give the Eagles the 2-0 lead. Then at the 9:25 mark of the period the Chiefs would get on the board when Evan Patrie would hit the rebound goal to make it a 2-1 game. Although the one-goal game would be short-lived as Keegan Seemone would score thirty seconds later to make it a two-goal lead again for the Eagles. The Chiefs would not end out the period strong as Landen Duprey would score twice to end the period and the teams would go into the locker room tied at three. The Chiefs would keep the train moving as they would score just 3:36 into the second period to give them their first lead of the game at 4-3 on the Nolan Miner goal. Then at about the midway mark of the period, Zach O'Connell will score to give the Chiefs the 5-3 lead. The game would stay there til the 14-minute mark of the period when Sam Bingel (hat trick) and Zach Lapier would score to tie the game at five as they went into the second intermission.
