Plattsburgh's Ty Conklin (31) makes the save on the breakaway to keep the Hornets in the game. It would be a nonconference affair as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Malone Huskies at the Ameri-can North Sports Complex. The game would not start well for the home hornets as the Huskies would get the lone goal of the first period. Although in the second period the offenses for both teams would come alive as they would combine for fives goals in the period and be tied at three at the end scoring for the Hornets would be Drew Knowles, Jackson Kain, and Jace Lacey. Then in the third period, they would combine four more goals and stay tied at 5 with goals from Hayden Colburn and Bostyn Duquette sending the teams to overtime.
