The Moriah Vikings are crowned the 2025 Section VII Class C Champions as they defeat the Ticonderoga Sentinels 45-37. It would be the second game of the opening day of Section VII Basketball championship weekend; It would see a battle between the top 2 seeds in Class C Girls Basketball as we would have the #1 Moriah Vikings and the #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels. The upset-minded Sentinels would have the lead early by the slim 10-9 margin after the first quarter. When the second quarter came around, the Vikings would go on a run, have a 13-2 quarter, and take the 22-15 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Vikings would keep their hor roll going as they double up the Sentinels with an 11-6 quarter and take the 33-21 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Sentinels would do their best to try and get back in the game with a 16-12 quarter, but it would not be enough as the Vikings would get the 45-37 victory. In the winning effort for the Moriah Vikings, Emily Nephew would lead the way with 11 points as they go to 17-4 on the season and advance to the New York State Class C Girls' Basketball Tournament. As for the Ticonderogga Sentinels, Maddy Casey would have 12 points as they finish their season at 13-9. Gallery
