Beekmantown's Novak Jarus (9) roofs it over Northeastern Clinton's Greyson LaFountain (1) as he would complete the hat trick in the 6-2 win over the Cougars. We would have Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey action from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the Beekmantown Eagles host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars as we enter the second half of the conference season. It would take the 10:34 mark of the first period for the Eagles to get on the board with the game's opening goal from Evan Bruyere to make it a 1-0 game. The Cougars answered back and tied the game at one on the power play goal with 13 seconds left in the period from Baylon Cronkrite, and that was where the first period would end. The Eagles would retake the lead at 2-1 just 24 seconds into the second period on the Edward Swenor goal. The Eagles would keep coming and extend the lead to 3-1 on the power play goal from Novak Jarus at the 3:31 mark of the period, and that's how the second period would end. When the teams returned for the third period, the offense would stay hot for the Eagles and make it a 4-1 game at the 6:09 mark of the period when Novak Jarus would get his second goal. Then, with 4:28 left in the game, Jarus would complete the hat trick as he would make it a 5-1 game. The Cougars would add one late from Baylon Cronkrite with three minutes left in the game for his second of the game to make it a 5-2 game. With 1:44 left in the game, Edward Sweenor would get his second goal as they would secure the 6-2 win. In the winning effort, the Eagles netminders would combine for 14 saves on the night as they go to 9-5-1 on the season. They head into their next game against the Plattsburgh Hornets on Friday night as they battle for first place in the standings. As for the Northeastern, Clinton, Greyson LaFountain would make 25 saves on the night as they fall to 1-14-1 and into their game against Champlain Vally Union on Saturday afternoon. Gallery
