Champlain Valley Baseball League Airborne Speedway Padres Vs Meron's Expos June 10 2012

Airborne Speedway's Nick Derochsers (7) extends completely out to save the ball from going to the outfield. The Airborne Speedway Padres would sweep a doubleheader with the Meron's Expos 9-0 & 12-0. In-game 1 it would be close at 2-0 until when the bats would explode for 6 runs to make it 8-0. Then to finish off the game the Padres would add one more to make it 9-0 for the victory. The story of the game would be Frank Brogna as he would go the complete game strikeout twelve and give up no hits for the no-hitter. In-game two the Padres bats would stay hot as the would get to expos early by getting six in the second and five in the third and finish it off with one in the fourth for the 12-0 win in five innings. Leading the way offensively for Padres would Eric Bell with a home run and Joey Painter with a three-hit game. On the mound Matt Rivers would give up just three hits and strike out two. With the sweep, the Padres improve to 5-5 while the Expos fall to 7-3. Gallery

Saranac's Andrew Petro (12) knocks down the hard smash to first for the out. The Saranac Chiefs would defeat the Beekmantown Eagles 6-5 ton win the 2012 Section VII Class B Championship at Chip Cummings field. The Chiefs would get on the board with a 2 run rbi single by Kasey Favreau for the 2-0 lead. The Eagles would answer back to tie it at the top of the third at 2. Although at the bottom of third the Chiefs would get four runs to get the 6-2 lead. Then in the fourth inning, the Eagles would cut the lead in half at 6-4. Then in the seventh inning, the Eagles would get 1 and leave the baseloads as the Chiefs would get the 6-5 victory. In the winning effort, Tanner Rascoe would go 6 2/3 while striking out and Ben Weightman would come into getting the last two outs for the save for there first sectional title in 4 years. Gallery

Then over the remaining six innings Kasy Favreau would quite the Cougars and the Chiefs would get five unanswered runs. The would get one back in the third on Brady Burleigh's RBI double to make it 2-1. Then in fourth the big shot would be made on Tanner Rascoe's three-run homer to give the Chiefs a 4-2 lead. Then in the sixth inning, the Chiefs would add an insurance run on Austin Velie's RBI single. In getting the win for the Chiefs Kasey Favreau would go the distance striking out five, five hits and four walks. The Chiefs will play Wednesday for the Section VII championship. Gallery
