Northeastern Clinton's Lucas Hemingway (13) takes it around Beekmantown's Louis Sweenor (55) as they pass the blue line into the offense zone. It would be the semi-finals of the Section VII Boy's Hockey D2 playoffs. The #1 Beekmantown Eagles would be hosting the #4 Northeastern Clinton Cougars who advance to the semi-finals earlier in the week with a win over the Plattsburgh Hornets. The winner of this semi-final match would advance to the Section VII Championship on February 27th against the winner of the Saranac Chiefs and Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers game. The game would start off well for the home Eagles as they would get the opening goal of the game just 29 seconds into the game on the Luke Moser goal. The Cougars would come right back though and tie the game up at the 5:41 mark of the period on the Marcus Bedard goal. The Eagles would keep swinging and take the lead back at the halfway mark of the period when Zack Lapier would light the lamp and give the Eagles the 2-1 lead. The Eagles would be able to expand their lead to two goals at 3-1 at the 14:11 mark on the Sam Bingel goal and that's where the first period would come to an end. When the teams returned for the second the Cougars would score 3:50 into the second to make it a one-goal game at 3-2 on the Willie Simpson goal. Although the one-goal game would be short-lived as Luke Moser would answer just 68 seconds later to make it a 4-2 game again. Then with just over a minute left in the period Eagles Sam Bingel would get the second goal of the game to send them into the locker room with a 5-2 lead. The Eagles would extend their lead to 6-2 on the short-handed goal at the 10:10 mark of the third period when Zack Lapier scored. Then in the final four minutes of the game, the Eagles would add three more goals from Lee Jarus, Louis Sweenor, and Keegan Seamone as they would get the 9-2 victory. It would be a matchup of a pair of top 15 teams in the state inside section vii and it would feature the #15 Saranac Chiefs traveling up the road to play the #2 Beekmantown Eagles in the season finale. The Eagles would strike first and quick with the Zach Lapier goal to make it a 1-0 Eagles 3:10 into the game. Then just over five minutes later the Eagles would score again to make it a 2-0 lead on the Sam Bingel goal. Then in the closing seconds of the period, the Eagles would make it 3-0 on the Quinn Brandell goal. The game would stay there till the 9:48 mark of the second period when Louis Sweenor would snip in from the blue line and make it a 4-0 game. Then just two minutes later the Eagles would make it a 5-0 game as Luke Moser would score from the slot. Then with 40 seconds left in the period Parker Broughton would score on the scramble in front of the net for the 6-0 game. The game would stay there always till the last minute of the game when Luke Moser would get his second of the game for the 7-0 win. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles would win the regular season crown and take the first seed in the upcoming playoffs and will meet up with the winner of Northeastern Clinton and Plattsburgh Hornets in the semi-final. While the Saranac Chiefs would get the #2 seed in the playoffs and will play #3 Saranac Lake-Lake Placid in the semi-finals. Gallery

Beekmantown's Sam Bingel (11) rises his arm in celebration as he puts the puck in the back of the net past the Lakers netminder. It would be the rare high school boy's hockey game on a Sunday as this was a makeup game from earlier in the season. It would feature the #2 Beekmantown Eagles hosting the Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers. The home Eagles would strike first and quickly just 1:25 into the first period when would throw in the rebound from Sam Bingel for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there through the rest of the period and the first 3:38 of the second period when Keegin Rodier would light the lamp and make it a 2-0 game and that's where the second period would end. Then just 3:59 into the third period the Eagles would strike again this time from Caleb Peryer for the 3-0 lead. The Eagles would keep the offense going this time on the shorthand as Sam Bingel would break in on net and get the goal for the 4-0 lead. The Eagles would keep coming and score again just 2:30 later on the Cooper Burdo goal and make it a 5-0 lead. Then with just under two minutes left in the game, the Eagles would finish off the Lakers as Parker Broughton would snip in the top of the net to secure the 6-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Eagles would go to 15-1-2 on the season as Austin Dosier would make 13 saves for the shutout as the Lakers fall to 5-7 on the season. The Lakers will be right back in action tomorrow as they would host the Saranac Chiefs while the Beekmantown Eagles will travel to Rouses Point and take on the Northeastern Clinton Cougars on Wednesday, February 15th. Malone Huskies Reaghan Marlow (35) with the pad save on the Eagles breakaway attempt on net. It would be the semi-finals of the Section VII Girl's Hockey inside the Upstate New York Girl's Hockey League. The game would be tight throughout the first period and the Eagles would eventually get the opening goal with under 90 seconds left in the period from Rachel Mador to make it 1-0 Eagles. The Huskies would fight back and tie the game at one on the Olivia Cook. Although just 50 seconds later the Eagles would score to regain their one-goal lead at 2-1. Then with just under five minutes left in the second period, the Huskies would tie the game again as Olivia Cook would score her second goal of the game. Although the Eagles would keep the fight up and take the lead back once again as they would score with two minutes left in the period to make it a 3-2 game. Although once again the Huskies would tie the game once again just 4:55 into the third period at three. The game would stay all the way til the fourth overtime when the Huskies would get the game-winner just shortly after a very conversational call boarding that jarred the puck free that they put in the net for the Huskies 4-3 win. With the win, the Huskies would advance to the Section VII Championship against Adirondack on February 9th. Gallery

Beekmantown's Zack Lapier (19) collides with Salmon River's goaltender Chartland as they were going after the loose puck. It would be a mid-season matchup outside the conference but o what it matchup it would be as it would pit the top 2 in new york state boy hockey #2 Beekmantown Eagles would host the #1 Salmon River Shamrocks from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena in front of a very spirited and well-attended crowd. It wouldn't take long till we had our first goal of the game as Salmon River's (17) would light the lamp just 3:20 into the game. Although the Eagles come right back down and tie the game back up at one of Zack Lapier's goals just a minute later. Although at the thirteen-minute mark, the Shamrocks would get two quick ones just 100 seconds apart from 7 and 17 as the Shamrocks lead the game 3-1 after the first period. When the teams returned for the second the competitive spirit of the game would stay on high and at the 7:32 mark of the period Zack Lapier would score again for the Eagles to make it a 3-2 game. Although with just over two minutes left in the period would fight back to get their two-goal lead again on the Cook goal to make it 4-2 Shamrocks after the second period. The Eagles would waste little time in the third period making it a one-goal game again on the Sam Bingel just 40 seconds in to make it a 4-3 game. Then with just six minutes left in the game, the Eagles would finally get the equalizer as Lapier would get his hat trick goal and end up sending the game to overtime tie at four. In the extra frame, there would be a penalty called on Beekmantown's Sam Bingel and with the powerplay, the Shamrocks would take care of business on the Cook goal. On this night the #1 team in the state the Salmon River Shamrocks would get the win at 5-4 to stay perfect on the season the Eagles would suffer their first setback of the year and go to 9-1-1 on the season and will look to right the ship on January 27th against the Canton Bears.
