The Cardinals would take the lead five minutes into the game on the Annie Katonka goal. The Red Dragons would tie the game at 1 on the power-play goal nine minutes into the first. The Cardinals although would regain the lead Kayla Menneghan goal with four minutes left in the first for the 2-1 lead after the first period. In the second period, the Red Dragons would get the lone goal of the period to tie it at 2. In the second quarter, the teams would be even as they tie for the quarter at 18 and the Cardinals would have a 35-34 lead. When the teams came back for the second half the Eagles would pull away with a 26-17 quarter and have a 60-52 lead. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would pull away more winning the quarter 21-15 and secure the 81-67 victory.
