St. Anslem's Colin Soucy (29) with the glove save on the high shot to keep his team in the lead as part of 30 plus save night. The St. Anslem Hawks and the Manhattanville Valiants would face off in the semi-finals on the W.B. Mason Winter Classic. The Valiants would draw first blood with a goal at 1:19 from Matt Lippa for the 1-0 lead in the first period. The Hawks would come back and tie the game at 10:47 of the first period on the Dave Almendia goal. The Valiants would regain the 1 goal lead with 13 seconds left in the first period on the Matt Lippa second goal of the night. When the teams came back for the second period Matt Lippa would finish of the hat trick with the goal at 4:30 of the period. The Hawks would cut the lead in half with the goal by Bryan Green at 17:04 of the second period at 3-2. The Hawks would tie the game up at 3 as Sean Verrier scores in the final minute of the period. When the teams came back for the third period the Hawks would score twice in the first 6:30 of the period for the 5-3 lead. Then with 4:30 left in the game the Valiants Eric Berglund would score on the shorthand to make it a 5-4 game. Although the Hawks would ice the game away with the empty netter for the 6-4 victory. In the winning effort the St. Anslem Hawks would advance to the Championship of the W.B. Mason Winter Classic against the Plattsburgh State Cardinals. Gallery.

Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Connecticut College Camels - January 4th 2019

W.B. Mason Winter Classic Semi-Finals
Goal

Plattsburgh State's Mike Falanga (10) puts the puck to the top shelf over the outstretched goalie for the goal. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Connecticut College Camels in front of 1400 fans in the W.B. Mason Winter Classic Semi-Finals. The Cardinals would get the opening goal of the game from Mike Falanga at 15:37 of the first period for the 1-0 lead. Then over the next over the next 1:45 the Cardinals would add two more goals from Charles Barber and Jesse Neher and the Camels would add one as we well to make it a 3-1 game. Thats where the game would stay til the 4:13 mark of the second period when Ryan Kuhn would score to make it 4-1. Then at the 11:21 mark of the period Ryan Kuhn would score on the powerplay to make it a 5-1 game. The Camels would strike back two minutes later with a goal of there to make it 5-2. Although that would be all the scoring on the night as the teams went scoreless in third period and the Cardinals get the 5-2 victory. With the win the Cardinals advance to the finals of the W.B. Mason Winter Classic and will face the St. Anslem Hawks for the title. Gallery.

Irving Muaran and Harold Smith would battle it out at the front of the pack for the lead I.t would be the third and final day of racing at the Franklin County Fair and there would be another 10 races on the day with all races being dash races. Harold Smith would take a couple wins on the day to secure the jockey honors. Gallery

Heath Allen (1) would take it at the finish line by nose over Shawn Warner (5) for second place. It would be the second day of Harness Racing at the Franklin County Fair. There would be ten races on the day paying out a total of 25,000 dollars throughout the day. The big winner on the day would be Harold Smith. Gallery
