The Street Legal Truck Pull made its annual return to the Clinton County in Plattsburgh in front of a bunch of fairgoers. The numbers keep increasing every year and this year would be no different as there would be a total of 67 hooks between the six different classes that were offered. The Adirondack Truck and Tractor Pullers Association got their 2009 season off in Hopkinton, NY. They would have 4x4 trucks, pro stock tractors, altered stock tractors, and farm stock in attendance. In the 4x4 truck class, it would start off just as 2008 ended with Too Loose Nuts your 2008 champion winning the first event of the season and take the early season lead. The next stop for the ATPA will be the Clinton County Fair July 22nd for a street-legal truck pull and then on July 25th for a full show of trucks and tractors. Gallery

The Plattsburgh North Stars would head across the lake this week to take on long time rival the Vermont Ice Storm at the Burlington High School. It would defensive game on both sides as it was tied at zero going into the 4th quarter. Then the North Star offense would respond as they would cruise to a 21-0 win over the Ice Storm and stay perfect on the season. The Fourth Ward Cardinals and the Hockey Plus/Loreman's Padres locked up for a big regular-season doubleheader as they came in #1 and #2 in the standings with the Cardinals up by 1.5 games. There would not be much settled on this day as Padres would split the doubleheader and stay a 1.5 apart headed into the final week of the season. The Padres would come from behind in game 1 to win it in the 7th inning 5-4. However, the Cardinals came back to calm the game 2 with a convincing 6-0 win. The Padres will finish off the regular season on July 19th with a doubleheader in Lyon Mountain against the Miners. While the Cardinals will be hosting the Athletics at Bailey Ave. The field in Plattsburgh. Pictured is Cardinals (#20) sliding under the tag of Padres Pat Hoey (#10) for the stolen base. Gallery

The Plattsburgh North Stars would start off their Empire League season with a well-fought victory over the Broome County Dragons 21-13 in a game that they never trailed in. The North Stars would use a stellar performance by the defense for the victory along with a good attack on the ground from Brandon Keleher has he would rush for over 100 yards on the day. The North Stars will be traveling to Vermont on July 18th to take on defending league champion the Vermont Ice Storm at 1:00 pm at South Burlington High School.
