Plattsburgh's Andrew Swiesz (40) with the crunching hit on Ausable Valley's (2) as he releases the ball on the pass attempt. It would be week 2 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season and it would feature the Ausable Valley Patriots and the Plattsburgh Hornets. The Horners would get the opening score of the game on a run by Lestyn Williams for the 7-0 lead at 3:52 of the first quarter. The game would be a very defensive game and the game would stay there all the way through the first half. When the teams would come back for the third quarter the Patriots would finally get on the board on a 63-yard pass to Louie Perez although they would miss the extra point and the Hornets would keep a 7-6 advantage. The game would stay there till the final three minutes of the game when the Hornets would expand there lead to 14-6 on a four-yard run by Lestyn Williams and secure the victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets go to 2-0 while the Patriots fall to 0-2 on the season. Next will the Horners will be at home as they host the Peru Indians and the Patriots will travel and take on the Saranac Lake Red Strom. Gallery.
