The Cardinals wouldn't waste time getting on the scoreboard just 35 seconds in on the Bridget Orr goal. The game would stay there till the 9:07 mark of the period when Kendall Wasik would score and make it a 2-0 game. Then with just over two minutes left in the period the Cardinals would get a third tally this time from Mattie Norton to make it a 3-0 Cardinal game. The Cardinals would keep it going in the second period when Ciara Wal would score four minutes in and make it a 4-0 game. Then about three minutes later Ivy Boric would get on the scoring sheet for the Cardinals to make it a 5-0 Cardinal lead. The game would stay there till the 3:57 mark of the third period when Mattie Norton would get her second of the night and make it a 6-0 game. Then with about seven minutes left in the game, the Mustangs would break up the Nease shutout on the Allie Davidson goal and make it a 6-1 game. With just under five minutes left in the game, Aizah Thompson would score to secure the 7-1 victory.
