It would be the finals of the 2024 Comfort Inn Winter Classic and it would see the host #5 Plattsburgh State Cardinals take on the Albertus Magnus Falcons for a shot at the title in front of 1,300 fans at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The game would remain scoreless through most of the first period when Colin Callahan would score at the 13:09 mark to make it a 1-0 Cardinals game. The Falcons would answer right back about 84 seconds later on the Sam Anderson powerplay goal and tie the game at one. However, the tie would be short-lived as the Cardinals would regain the one-goal lead 1:07 later on Colin Callahan's second goal of the period. The Cardinals would extend their lead to 3-1 just 1:26 into the second period on the Luk Jirousek goal. The Cardinals would extend their lead to 4-1 on the Afam Tretowicz goal at the 14:16 mark of the second period. The game would stay there till the 6:31 mark of the third period on the Thomas Maia goal and make it a 5-1 game. The Falcons would keep fighting and they would make a 5-2 game at the 11:12 mark of the period on Sam Anderson's second goal of the game. The Raiders would get one more late in the game from JJ Berdal. However, the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would get the 5-3 win to be crowned the 2024 Winter Classic champion behind Eli Shiller's 16-save performance.
