It would be the battle of the North Country as the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals (ranked number for the first time in 8 years) would host the Potsdam State Bears with just over 1500 fans in attendance in SUNYAC action. It would take till the midway mark of the first period when we would get the first goal of the game coming on the Bear's first shot on the Jack Loran goal to give the Bears the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till there was just over a minute left in the period when the Cardinals would tie the game up on Bennett Stockdale's goal as they crashed the net. The Cardinals would have little time to take the lead in the game on Adam Tretowicz as he stuffs in the rebound 4:35 into the third to give the Cardinals the 2-1 lead. However, the Bears were not just going to roll over for the #1 team in the land as they would tie the game up at two on the Jack Loran second of the game. However, with just under 90 seconds left in the game, the Cardinals would take the 3-2 lead on the Paul Bryer goal for the 3-2 and eventual win. Jacob Hearne would make 17 saves in the winning effort as the Cardinals stayed undefeated on the season while the Bears fell to 1-5 in the early season.
